Specialty Costume and Title for Old-Timers (2 yr veteran players)

For those of us that have been supporting this game as subscribers from the very beginning (coming up on 2 yr mark) , you should come up with a costume and title for us that when worn lets everyone know who your BIGGEST supporters are. It would also be a way for those of us that like to play 'Help Desk' for new TESO players a way to be identified as an ESO old-timer when the costume or title is worn...someone who would know the answer to the everyday questions people ask about quests, zones, etc etc. Do yourself a favor and give us old-timers the option via costume and/or title to help you out by providing a little relief to customer support by helping newer players with their simpler questions on game play. I run a couple of guilds and there are always new players asking questions...not just in guild chat either, most questions I answer are in zone chat.

Giving the 2 yr vet a costume and title would be a great way for ZOS to show us their appreciation for our loyalty and support.

I say give them a title such as "elder" or something like that. The players who have stuck around from the beginning on PC have essentially helped make this game through testing and opinion etc. I don't even play PC and haven't been around near that long but i think those from the beginning should receive a little more recognition.

Ouch, that sucks. (You needed to have paid for 300 (or something close to that) days actually, whether those days passed or not, they still counted. Until they decided to change it I would have been short 2 days due to free days)

I'd be down with a title more than a costume.

I'm all right with service medal icons that you can display next to your name/title for RL years served in the Cyrodiil military. They'd spice things up a bit in the absence of the VR symbol.

Of course, somebody will find a way to turn them into pity parties. "Waaaaah I got ganked by a 3 year Nolifer NB" instead of the usual OP CP BS. New recruits are so much fun...

Playing this game for two years is definitely something to be proud of because I only lasted about 6 months. Even that was a stretch with the skimpy content.

I vote yes. Like a tabard that says "I survived the monotony" or something.

All joking aside now, I vote I still want my lifetime achievement for wearing clothes every day.

^ Yes. I'm afraid doing something like this would cause the same issue like with the Senche. Having to choose where to draw that line. I didn't start day 1. I didn't know about the game until 2 weeks after release. I received the Senche. (I subbed in 6 month increments so was eligible). There are folks that DID start day one, but due to different subscribing options or other thigns.. didn't get said Senche.

ALTHOUGH. It could be a "after 2 years" reward. Not necessarily mean that you've been with the game since the beginning, but would mean you probably know your stuff.

I was a little upset when Blizzard sent out those nice looking metal Orc statues to all the 10 yr subscribers last year. I took like a 6 month break and lapse in my sub.

Generally speaking I don't like the long term awards as it creates an exclusivity and then becomes a source of credibility on forums and zone chat.

If they tie it to number of days subscribed rather than from day 1, there won't be an issue. Somebody who's subscription lapsed for a few days gets their tiger or whatever a few days later.

That said, who really need a "you're special" shiny?

I don't think this is workable in B2P land, simply because the old-school crowd is likely not the "BIGGEST supporters" anymore. I've been here since beta, subbed the whole time, got my Senche, etc... but I don't buy many extra crowns (picked some up on the Black Friday sale but that's it). There are almost assuredly non-subbers out there who have spent WAY more money than I have on this game.

IF ZOS were going to reward the "BIGGEST supporters" then that would likely have to include the whales, and no one would be happy if there was an exclusive reward that mostly went to credit-card warriors.

Just wait for the crafting bag, it's not exclusive to old-timers but it's finally a really nice reward for subbing.

I don't know, the senche-tiger seemed to cause a lot of confusion and trouble for different people with who got it, who narrowly missed out and whether it was their fault (like people who had unusually high numbers of problems and therefore free days and people whose 6 months sub was renewed just too late) and people scrambling to buy time cards to get it.

If it was going to be like that again I'm not sure it would be worth it. Especially if the requirements were as strict, which would mean an even smaller group of people would qualify.

(Not that I should mind since there's no way I'd qualify, but I felt bad for all the people who narrowly missed out and ended up feeling penalised for things they couldn't control.)

Mask of Cheerful Slaughter costume was for subbing for several months back in the day. It is very similar to the jesters costume tho unfortunately.
