Gathering

Gathering: To go around areas in an mmo/RPG/whatever game, and gather materials such as herbs/flowers, mining nodes, chopping logs, etc...)

Gathering in ESO is actually kind of interesting. I never used to gather in other mmos like WoW, but on this, it's fun cus the chance of getting legendary materials from refining (with the right passives) is always... exciting, but...

Is it just me, or does it seem difficult to refine Tempering Alloy from ore?

Yes. Yes it is. But that's the thing about rare, if it was easy, it wouldn't be rare for long...
Better chances to get the legendary stuff from doing equipment crafting writs anyhow, methinks...

The writs I do every day now, but even in those, I feel lucky to see a Temp Alloy so I end up buying some... lol oh well

It's not in line with the other upgrade materials. I can pull tons of rosin an drueg wax but tempering alloy is scarce. It's because ZOS dislikes tanks and them having gold heavy armor should be very expensive apparently

If you have all three points in Metal Extraction (or equivalent), 1-2 gold tempers for every 500 or so ore (or equivalent) seems about average. Don't be tempted to let lower levels refine lower raw material. I think I've actually had more RNG success with Iron Ore, Jute, and Maple. So when in doubt, hit up your starter island and collect collect collect.

I definitely feel like I get more more drug wax, I mean dreugh? yeah.. Dre-Ugh, sounds like Dr. Dre, Uuugggghhhh! anyway. I get lots of them, and the wood working ones, but barely any alloys....

Is this a conspiracy? Are we being given less Alloys? ..

Brilliant, thanks for the insight! I was thinking of doing that because the other day, I gave 10 Jute to my main from my noob, and I refined Dreugh Wax on my first 10. Lol

Definitely gonna hit the old zones and try my luck then. 1-2 for every 500 sounds about right, realistically, though I don't think I've ever mined more than 150 before, so it will be rough but worth it in the end.
