Dueling Trends and Dueling Mechanics suggestions

On XB1 NA Haderus, I’ve noticed that people are gathering and dueling everyday in the IC arena district.

I think it’s interesting that this came about sort of organically, and I’m sure it has evolved partly out of boredom and to avoid cyrodiil lag. Also, I am sure the layout of the zone and players love of spectating is also a reason that this is happening.

I hope devs take note of this behavior and find a good way to incorporate spectating into any future pvp updates. Because I think it’s obvious people like watching fights.

Does anyone have suggestions on dueling mechanics, since ZOS has stated that they are working to bring dueling to the game?

    ZOS mentioned that same faction dueling will be a thing, and that will be great and most likely inspire dueling circles outside of PVE cities etc. But in Cyrodiil I don’t see it making things too different.

    So... one idea I had is something called “Dueling Taverns”.
    • You still have to travel there and face the dangers of Cyrodill, but if you can make it in the tavern alive, you are zoned into a safe zone where all factions can gather.
    • You can talk to your alliance coordinator and que for a duel, etc.
    • Disable all abilities except emotes for spectators
    • Keep spectators outside of the ring with invisible walls, etc.
    • Have side dueling rings and a main one
    • Can be in a basement or backyard cove type of area
    • Make the tavern separate in the sense that IC is, and won’t affect Cyrodiil lag.


    Just some ideas…
