ESO on consoles dying?

Ive been playing since launch on PS4 and have noticed a significant drop of players in my faction (Daggerfall). Granted I understand with the recent game releases ie; Fallout 4, Black Ops etc. people are going to play other games however it feels like there has been a significant exodus as I have noticed the undaunted area is usually pretty empty these days, to the point where getting a group is kinda ridiculous. The group finder tool although inefficient and sometimes just plain *** works to some extent but I cant help but think that this decline in players is a direct expression of the current state of the game.

Is this just a Daggerfall thing or have other factions noticed this decline as well?

A flash in the pan mmo. People got sick of bugs, GMs not doing their jobs, dlc with bugs, long loading times, having to sub to catch up with others, sick of the monstrosity that is guild shops, and forum GMs with skin like tissue paper.

I have noticed as massive population increase on xbox.

I have noticed the vast majority of players that were playing fall out have returned.

The competition in Cyrodiil this month is over x4 the amount of last month.

I can only speak to what I have noticed in xbox

I don't think so. Im PS4 Daggerfall as well. My core group has expanded with guys that just started the game since Fallout and Black Ops release. Things are fine. Get back to the grind.

my guild is full the minute I free spots and we are daggerfall. message me on psn man and I will shoot you an invite that should help make finding a group easier.

I am on PS4 AD and we still have alot of people, and just recently DC in the Haderus campaign, who have been almost non existent for PvP has been extremely active and took more than half the keeps last night.... so I don't think the game on console is dying..

Doesn't appear to be dying on Xbox One.

My main plays Daggerfall Cov and we do Trials, PvP runs and Vet Dugeons at least one day a week with one guild.

Some original guilds have died...but those on my friends list and I moved and merged into others


The ppl who came to see are gone.
Those who came to stay are still there and show no signs of leaving.


thats my exprience on NA servers.

I have an Ald Dom guild I joined as well who is more PvP focused but over 200 members and very active as well as they run PvE dungeons each weeknight.

Ps4 EU. Azura's is poplocked and laggy as holy hell during prime time. Other VET campaigns are about 2 bars depending on faction. Black Water Blade usually has 2 bars all factions during prime time.

I'm constantly getting notifications from guildmates completing trials and vMSA throughout the day and rarely have issues finding groups for pledges either at the enclave or using group finder.

Honestly I think the population is fine on my own platform at least. Started levelling a Templar and there was quite a few low levels on the starter islands too as I was doing it. (I know they could be alts, but even existing players leveling alts is a good sign they're continuing to play)

I returned about a week ago and the game seems a lot less populated. The town in reapers March where the best guild traders are that used to be full of people at any time of day is now a lot quieter and practically dead after 11pm.. used to have ques of 200+ for azuras star campaign now it's instant join even at peak times. Elden root used to be really busy also now that's also.prety quiet.. azuras star campaign still gets full at peak times but when I played a few months ago it was full all evening up until 3 am .. those were the days.. the games not dead yet though there's still a decent amount playing from what iv seen at peak times and also this is just the dominion side so others could differ .. ps add cloaks and fix lag !

I'd like this to be true, but I can't think of a single friend I have that plays this anymore...

Likely your perception is skewed, don't forget they removed all of the other non-vet campaigns leaving on BWB... If that's not an indicator of a drop in playerbase (at least in PVP), I don't know.

What you're seeing are ppl getting fed up with server issues for EU.
I'd imagine most have jumped to NA or just quit as crown purchases and chars and server locked.

Nope.

Not sure what's implied by that... Big difference between DLing, and continuing to play after you "experience" the game. Plenty of friends had the game, and dumped it.. Not sure what it would take to bring them back.

Ya, as to what every one else says, PlayStation 4 sucks go throw that piece of junk into a fire and shoot it a couple times. Xbox is of course doing well on its population for eso and is much better.

The population on xbox na has increased alot. So has the pvp lag and I'm about done with pvp cuz of it. I'm to the point where I'll just pve until they fix it. We had 20+ members join our guild because of the free weekend and they are enjoying the game. So dying? I say far from it.

People stating the population is strong in PvP have to remember they closed a lot of campaigns. So people are playing in the only campaigns available. That's why the pop is still sorta strong in PvP.

In my experience the pop is much less on Xbox1 NA. I say this because guild traders all over that used to have tons of items now have little to nothing or nothing at all.

So you based your assumptions on traders? lol. We had many new players join our guild because of the free weekend. Your assumptions are wrong.

lol yeah. I only commented because that's what happened to all my friends i started playing this with. YOu're right i think they did try a few alts. A couple even bought fancy mounts

I firmly believe that the introduction of text chat will help give more players a sense of community and give them a reason to stick around. Hopefully ZOS won't drag their feet implementing it.

You gotta take account the current month, and time of day.

A lot of people are back to working or attending classes (college or high school).

Also some players are located in the EU, playing in NA or vice versa.

Since I'm located in the West of NA, I see a lot of players from 3PM - 9PM, and around 2AM - 5AM there is interestingly still a lot of players (which I'm guessing EU or people on the opposite of the globe from me)

I've actually noticed an increase on PS4, but a decrease of 'usuals' on my home campaign, due to the intense lag. We've kinda scattered to other campaigns like Chillrend, Thornblade etc.

With new dlc and changes many people will Come back. Especially when vet ranks are removed and text chat is added
