When to start Veteran Mode Dungeons

When is a good time to start doing veteran mode dungeons?

I'm currently VR3 Argonian DK hybrid tank in full blue set armor (hist bark). I always PUG because I like to help out the DPS that have to sit in queue forever. (I know, I'm such a nice guy! )

Currently, most normal runs are a breeze, but occasionally I'll derp hard and get wrecked in one shot (usually when I'm not paying proper attention), but it's never really fatal to the mission - just a bit embarrassing for a tank... On the other hand, I've had PUG groups tell me that I'm "one of the best tanks" they've seen, but it's hard to tell if they were being polite, serious, have low standards or whatever....

I'd like to try some vet mode dungeons, but I don't want to be "that guy" that ruins it for everyone. I know it's serious business at vet level, and I really don't want to be the one getting scraped off the floor after every encounter.

If you're at least VR1 and you're finding the normal mode dungeons to be a breeze, then you're ready to start doing veteran mode dungeons. Ideally rather than PUG them you want to start off finding a group of people who enjoy helping others learn the ropes. Once you've become used to the difference in difficulty level between normal mode dungeons and vet dungeons (and once you're familiar with most of the mechanics you see in vet mode dungeons) then you'll be more ready to PUG them.

What platform/server are you on? If you're PC/NA I'm in a guild that's pretty heavily focused on helping guildies out with that type of thing.
