Do I have to pay real money to become a vampire or a werewolf?

Eventual_Silence
I know this is a noob question but I just got this game on Christmas. I was a beta tester but I didn't have a chance to get that far.

Nooo. Other play vamps and werewolves can bite you in game for free at the appropriate shrine. A lot will charge around 5k gold for a bite, but there's some nice people who will do it for free.

No, you can also get bites in game. The Crown Store ones are just time savers. The mobs that will infect you only appear in the last area for each faction. (Bangkorai, Reaper's March, Ritfen) and only during select moon cycles. Other players can also bite you, however.

    Absolutely not!

Do a quick google search for how to become either one...and for goodness sake don't pay gold or money for it.

There are plenty of players who will set you up for free.

    Oh and welcome back! :)

Okay, that question was answered, thanks! However, there is now a new question I must ask...which faction takes me to Riften and is the rest of Skyrim explore-able from there?

Well all factions will get to Riften eventually but being in the Ebonhart Pact will allow you the fastest access. As of right now Eastmarch and The Rift are the only explorable parts of Skyrim.

Shame...it's still pretty worth it though, i'd love to at least make it to skyrim...shame the rest of it will probably be dlc even though they promised all of tamriel would be available for exploration...

You don't HAVE to pay, but if you were to celebrate getting transformed by donating money to a children's charity with 0% going to administrative costs, I'm sure nobody would have a problem with that. o:)

What children? There are no children in Tamriel! ;)
