Removal of Vet Ranks

So I've been wondering, if they remove the vet ranks, what will become with those 16 stat and 16 skill points we've earned for veteran leveling?
Will they take that away? Or you will be getting those points for each 10 champion ranks up until 160 champion rank?
And what if you already have more than 160 CP? Are we gonna get instant +16 attribute points and skill points after hitting level 50?

A little context here before this gets too out of hand…
    1. We’re still working on the system – nothing is finalized. (which is why we’re not really talking much about it yet)
    2. The intention is that once you hit 50, champion points take over. Veteran Ranks are completely removed.
    3. When Veteran Ranks are removed, we will convert any Veteran Ranks on your highest character into CP.
    4. To get a rough idea of balance - think of 10CP = 1 VR. (so 160 CP will roughly = VR16)

    Additional Details:
    • We’re planning on giving 2.5 CP for every VR level you’ve earned on your highest level character. (40 for a VR16 character)
    • When the conversion happens, any player with CP less than their old veteran rank * 10 will instead be given enough CP such that their total is VR * 10. For example: A player is VR14 with 75 CP, they will be given 65 CP (140-75) instead of 40, so that they can still equip any gear they may have.
    • We will make sure the 16 attribute picks you got from VR1 to VR16 will carry over. (current plan is an achievement that goes up in 10 CP increments until 160)

Keep in mind that none of the stuff above is 100% locked in. We're still implementing the feature - things are subject to change. It's important that everyone understands they are not suddenly going to have to have 501 CP in order to equip the top level gear. We will introduce new gear, with higher CP requirements sometime in the future, but we won't be making huge jumps. (i.e. - we won't go from 160 to 400 suddenly)

Once we finalize the system and lock in more of the details, we will discuss things in more detail and answer questions.

They haven't decided what to do with them yet, but they won't take them away. There are two options that I think they are considering currently; the first is as posted above, which is to move those points into the first 160 CPs. The other is something that Rich said he saw on the forums and liked the idea of, which is to move them into the 1-50 levelling on the 5s and 10s (one extra point every 5 levels, and another extra point every 10 levels). This directly accounts for the 15 points that need to be moved.

I hadn't seen this idea floated. This is a much better way of handling it. Getting those points every 10CP at the beginning of the Champion system is "weird". They'd also come every 10 minutes with how fast CP come when you are at zero.

I agree. If they go with CP, just give ppl the 16 and move on because this would only work for the first character to 160 ....that and I'm really not in agreement with any CP requirements or VR to CP conversions other than the points only.

While this would be nicer, methinks it will just end up being the total attribute given for 15 points being divided amongst the 50 levels. It's far simpler to do than every X levels give 2 attribute points.
