Like all skills using magicka it scales off max magicka and spell damage. It is also affected by Bastion perk from Champion Points system.

This one is actually only Magicka, spell power does not play a role in this shield's strength. But naturally Bastion does.

Not all skills using magicka scale of max magicka! Sun Shield for example...

This is not true. Actually all other shields apart from hardened ward and harness magicka scale of max health, while those two scale of max magicka. Spell damage doesn't influence any shield.

Interesting, I'll have to recheck then as I'm sure in my dual wield bar I get a stronger shield than my destruction staff.

There's no way spell dmg increases the shield size, you dont get bigger shields for buffing up with major sorcery buff.

If you have a bigger shield on your DW bar its because you have more magicka on that bar.
