About Gold

Hey I've got a few questions about gold.

1. How much Gold does any of your characters have right now?
2. How long did it take you to get said gold?
3. Has Gold ever been an issue, have you ever run out for instance?
4. Is it worth paying real money for bag/bank space upgrades or just save up Gold instead?

I'm a new player and these were just a few things I wanted to know, I've been playing for about 10 hours now, I noticed compared to other Elder Scrolls games I have less than a quarter of the Gold I'd usually have for around the same play time.

1. I hold at least 50k on each of my 8 characters, any extra goes in the bank. I've got about 4m in gold and 6m in materials.
2. Playing since launch, but I give a lot of it away. Main source of income is writs.
3. Never.
4. No, you'll get it all eventually so be patient and use gold.

1. My current amount of gold is little above 2mil.
2. I have been playing on this account since early-access (gold in the bank is account wide).
3. In the beginning when the good horse cost 42k gold I was broke for a moment.
4. I have bought all bag and bank upgrades, this is a huge gold sink but worth it if you have gold to spare. Go for the bag upgrades first and buy a couple cheaper bank upgrades.

At first you want to level-up your crafting skills by deconstructing gear/enchants, I have maxed all 6 crafts on my main character and crafting alt. Try to always have the trait researches running, this is the most time consuming part of crafting. After you have maxed all the crafts you can sell the gear the mobs drop, only deconstruct v15+ or purple+ gear. The reason for leveling all the crafts is that you save a ton of money if you can make your own gear, enchants, food/drinks and potions.

The Legerdemain skill line also offers ways to make money, with 1 skill point into the trafficker passive you can sell 110 stolen items daily. The best way to level this skill line is by pickpocketting npcs, opening chests and selling stolen goods. If you sell 110 item you will make around 4-5k gold each day, just make sure you arent caught with an inventory full of stolen items..

Currently most of the end-game gear is BoP (Bind on Pickup) so you cannot sell it to other players, this makes it hard to make money from selling gear atm. The item sets that for the most are Agility (robust) and Willpower(arcane) jewelry, especially the rings. Rare motif (pages) like Daedric, Anicent Elf, Dwemer, Xivkyn, Ancient Orc and Glass also sell pretty good.

If you're on PC I would suggest joining a big trading guild and installing the Master Merchant addon, this stores the prices of the items that are sold in the guild store.

I bought the last few bank upgrades with Crowns, as I had some spare from ESO+, but that's it.

I also spent 100% of my money last night on VR16 mats for 1 char...and still don't have the 3k to buy the enchant

I'm bad with gold. I try new builds so many times on different characters that I run out of it many times haha. I do have a lot of mats, which I also use a lot.

Do I care? No, nothing more satisfying when you come with an idea for a build, build it and see it's very effective.

Don't worry too much about gold for now, you'll earn enough soon. It's quitee easy to get a lot of gold.
