ZOS Will we get guild halls or cities with player housing?

You say you are working on player housing. But what we really need even more is guild housing. Your precious megaserver is a nightmare for roleplay guilds. Guilds need a space where they can get away from everyone else. Please tell me that guild halls are part of the housing plan.

If housing happens at all, it'll likely be instanced.

I agree that this is the most likely scenario. And I would hope guild halls are the same way. Player housing does not address the needs of guilds as, one supposes, if you are not online your house is not accessible to anyone else. A guild needs such a place that is accessible to its members at all times and is instanced so that ONLY its members and those they group with may enter it.

This is largely because of the constant griefing roleplayers get if they roleplay in spatial. So most roleplay in group. So you may often be walking right by roleplayers without knowing it. Since ZOS in its infinite wisdom chose to not have an RP server but rather to stick everyone, regardless of playstyle preference, on one megaserver AND they no longer enforce any sort of code of conduct among players it has become more trouble than it is worth to attempt to roleplay out in the open.

That said, there is indeed a thriving roleplay community despite this perhaps being the most unfriendly game in existence for roleplayers. You can find most of them at TESO-RP.

I don't see why player housing shouldn't be accessible to all a player's guildmates, all it would take would be for the usual option to grant visitor status to named individuals to have an additional option to extend visitor status to the player's guild.

I hate guild halls for the simple reason that they become filled with all the essential crafting and other facilities found in cities and other open world locations with the result that those places become ghettos. New players then try out the game and find it deserted, as everyone is in their guild hall, and so the new players quit.

In the case of this game there is the added complication that players can join up to 5 guilds, so as you can only be in one guild hall at a time it's inevitable that even the guild halls will be pretty empty.

I'm all in favour of promoting role-playing, and I wish the developers would organise some role-playing events and take the lead in them. Running a MMO is about a lot more than just creating the gameworld and then balancing the skills all the time, and community staff, for example, ought to have much more of a presence in the game which could easily be achieved through role-play.

    I should hope so...

I really would love to see "player housing" as small "apartment" style instances, stuff you can purchase in different categories (say, one "cheap hovel" style and one "nice apartment" per map, and an extra "grand multi-room living spece" in your faction capital city...) and then set up and decorate to your liking. And then invite other players to show it off (access per group leader, I'd presume, much like dungeons?)

And then I would like to see "homestead" type housing for guildhalls, with way more options to expand, options that are guild projects where everyone can contribute... adding all amienities like crafting stations and bank access, but also "special" additions, like, say a herb garden that grows three different alchemy ingredients every half hour and such...

I was on my dark elf vampire a week ago or so and saw a slave auction being done in Stonefalls, even made an offhand comment or two and got remarks back, so does exist and happens, sometimes pre planned or you have to keep a sharp eye out.

So rp happens and guild halls and such would help so hope we get this

I am among those who don't want to see guild halls or guild cities have everything that the actual cities do. Access to banks maybe. But they should have other perks to make them desirable. In Age of Conan there were vendors that sold things you could only get in guild cities and it was all fun vanity stuff. But they made the mistake of making everything so exorbitantly expensive that a guild had to be huge in order to get all the things that were fun and worth having. I would hope ESO does not make the same mistake. Guild halls or cities should not be utilitarian but they should be fun and offer some unique perks and/or gameplay that cannot be had elsewhere.

If they do not implement guild halls then yes they need to make it so that you can purchase multiple homes and designate one of them as your guild's home so that all the members of your guild may enter it at any time.

My proposition is that when they add Housing, Guild Leaders can buy Guild Extension to their own house and use is as Guild Hall, some massive room with big table and tons of chairs should do it. There isnt enough guilds to make own system for Guilds, imho.

Megaserver is best thing ever happened to RP player. They just need to add own Phase for them. Instances wheres only RP-players.

I actually like that idea a lot! Here's hoping they listen! Actually, I mean that about both ideas. They pay sooooo much lip service to roleplayers in this game and yet don't actually DO anything to support our playstyle and we are probably the EASIEST group of players to appease. Give us troll-free roleplaying spaces and we are golden. We should be able to go back to any instance we have quested through and completed and be able to group up and take others there. But noooooo... ZOS thought they knew better than literally every other game on the market and we are locked out of most of the amazing places we've quested through. Yeah, I'm looking at YOU Manor of Revelry!

Yes. I hope for some guild instances too. It is actually more important for me than housing.
I loved DDO guild ariships. I am not a big RP player but I found myself spending on my guildship a big amount of time and chatting with people.
Would like that option in ESO very much.

I don't even think this is an RP request. This game has a severe lack of avenues for guilds to.... feel like guilds I guess. We definitely need more social content in the game.
