Shortcuts

I think the debates over needing ways for PvE people to get PvP things, and PvP people to get PvE things are quite silly.

What I'm talking about is the discussion surrounding people who don't like one or the other wanting ways to obtain items or skills that you have to earn through either PvP or PvE means. If you want "x" item, but it is only obtainable through PvP, then do some PvP to get it, or stop complaining about how unfair it is that ZOS makes you play the game to earn things. Same goes for the other way around.

If you want shortcuts then play any mobile game with micro transactions.

I feel like this should be an obvious thing, am I just crazy here?

    Agreed.

If you want something, play for it.

I do... for example, I dislike PvP, but I do it because I want some things attainable through PvP. Its a drag, its annoying, I am not very good at it and get my bum kicked a lot... and always keep PvPing less then I intended when I leave in frustration... but sometime I will get there.

This is as it should be.

If anything, there should be more options for those who aren't super-good at something to also slowly work towards their goals. Rewards for those whose best efforts just aren't good enough winning the day, but who still make the effort and do their best.

But no shortcuts to get things another way. No undaunted experience through PvP. No alliance war experience through PvE. etc.
Because shortcuts are for milk-drinkers! ;)

By this do you mean supporting those who are trying their best at something they're not very good at (You playing PvP to get PvP items/skills even though you aren't good at it)?

Agreed, been saying the same thing exactly on those threads about the monster set vendor.

Fix the underlying issue where there is one, don't put in shortcuts.

Couldnt you just make gear tradeable so you could just buy the stuff the PvP guy earns n sell the stuff he doesnt want to PvE for? all this Bind-on-pickup needs to stop.

This thread applies to Alliance War Skill Lines too ya know... Fact of the matter is people want everything just handed out to them with little to no effort involved, and that's just crazy.

    In a way.
Its a bit frustrating getting little for your efforts when you just aren#t as good as the others. PvP especially - the ones who have the skill get Ap for the kill, the ones who did their best and found it not enough get... nothing. Which gets frustrating after a while.
So, if the loosers of a PvP action got, say, a minor reward for "doing their best", it would at least be something. Say, the winners get full reward, the loosers get 20% for at least trying hard - that sort of thing. Would make getting trounced in PvP a lot less painful, I'd say...

I am all for a "tried hard, but did not quite get to it" reward of some kind, given that it might be hard to decide, what was a real best effort and what was just a minor effort in order to exploit such game mechanics.

Which is why it would only be like a 20% kind of thing, so that it's more beneficial to actually do well, rather than to get a golden star for "Best Effort".
