Hardened Armor won't increase?

I've been using hardened armor in every fight since level 4. I'm now level 26 and Hardened Armor has barely hit rank 3. Nothing I do seems to increase it. What am I doing wrong?

Get the addon "Harvens Improved Skills Window" It will show you how much you have left to level the skill and can give you an idea of why it is taking so long, or at least give you an idea if it is bugged (if the skill xp doesn't change at all after having it slotted and gaining some xp then yah you have a bug of some kind).

Hardened armor is already morphed? It's a morph of spiked armor, no?

Skills (and morphs) level by gaining experience while the ability is slotted on your bar. This means that you just have to have the skill slotted (No need to use) and you'll progress the skill and line.

In general, a morphed skill requires round 10-20x more experience to fully max out as compared to the basic version of the ability. Don't worry too much about it. You'll get Hardened Armour IV soon. Incidentally, the transition between Rank III and IV takes the most experience of all ranks.

I've had it slotted for over 20 levels continuously. It hasn't morphed yet. It hasn't even progressed far enough to. All my other skills have, but this one just isn't increasing like all the others.

There are three non-bug possibilities:

1) Morph options do not show unless you have a skill point available. At least, they did not used to -- I have not played in a while

2) Some people don't realize that you have to morph skills manually, beginning with a click on the bit to the left that looks like a baseball infield

3) If the skill is on your 'back bar,' and you generally have the front bar active when killing things and when turning in quests, you may be gaining very little experience for HA (or anything else on the back bar)

Also, as others pointed out, some skills take a long time to raise. 20 levels seems goofily long, though, so you may have bumped into a bug.

Just have it slotted on your bar when you complete the quests.

You may be right. I'll double check the skill descriptor. Maybe I morphed it without paying attention at some point.
