Is a magicka nb still viable without proxy det?

Do they do enough burst dmg to actually kill someone?

The lag in cyrodiil is literally going to make getting magicka det impossible, 1.6m ap is a lot.

Personally, I believe they really suck. Only stamina NBs give me problems. My encounters with magic NBs is that they either run or die

Don't you've seen a good one then with 7k concealed and 10k+ proxy :P

Yeah they are good. Spam funnel health and concealed weapon. Then cloak+healing ward if they drop your health and come back and do it again. Refreshing path, shadow image, mass hysteria. All fun to play with. Go vamp for more mobility and batswarm then magika det later on will just be for busting groups.

Yeah the clouding + proxy det is what made me decide to make one, saw 1 AD magicka nb cloud + proxy det about 8 people and killed them all instantly.

That and i was getting tired of playing the same character got to mix it up a bit ^^

You haven't fought a good one.

We had an AD trolling our group in the sewers.

I got killed in leas than a aecons, his burst was insanely high.

Proxy det 8k+
Lotus fan 7k
Concealed weapon 8k
Throw in a 9k soul harvest for fun if they've got more than 20k hp

No one's surviving that.

They just require more skill than stam builds.

They're definitely viable. My proxy det build I use is more of a novelty than anything. It has really high burst damage and I personally just think it's funny to jump into a group of 3 or 4 and drop them all instantly but if they don't die my survivability goes way down. My survivability is much higher with my destro build where I can be at range and keep them rooted and spam heavy attacks and swallow soul from stealth. The heavy attack weaving really boosts my resource recovery and I hardly ever run out of magicka. With my prox det build I have 4k+ spell damage but my recovery is awful and you have to pray for siphoning attack proc's. The burst damage isn't insta-kill like my prox det build but people still die pretty fast. Obviously, if you're not playing the meta stam NB build you're not playing the game correctly, but I still enjoy my magicka NB very much. One thing that really boosted my burst damage is taking advantage of those heavy/medium attack weaves with the proc'd merciless resolve. A heavy attack + lotus fan + fear + merciless resolve + soul harvest and concealed spam is pretty good burst.

I grinded close to 1 million AP yesterday to get it on my Magic NB and love it. I dont really PvP, i use it for PvE. My trash mob pulls in pledges went from 20k-28k dps to 30k-60k if you have lots of points in thermaturge 100% worth it. If you are having trouble getting AP, spam rapid regen and try to have the 20% AP boost all the time.

In my experience fully charged heavy fire staff, crippling grasp then swollow soul dropped about 1 in 4 players. Whenever i would get within melee range my survival would drop fast. Cloak is great but against the good players out there not so much.
