[Monster Set] Maw of the Infernal

What do you think of this monster set? Is it viable for healing, tanking, DPS, or is it not viable for any role?

(1 items) Adds Max Health
(2 items) 5% chance on light or heavy attack to summon a fire breathing daedroth for 15.0 seconds. Basic attack deals [x] Physical Damage.

He can be viable in some cases.

I use him on my healer because im always power attacking with a Resto Staff to keep my magic full and he procs alot, and he is useful to help sometimes. He can help tank sometimes, not the best set and he could use more improvement, but against targets that dont move around alot he can be ok i guess nd sometimes he can tank things for ya. There are better sets but it has its uses at times.

I've seen some people make it useful in Dungeons to help take the aggro and make spots a lot easier.

The current proc chance with relative low damage for 15 seconds makes the dps gain low compared to other sets.

Some sorcs use the set on pet builds because Deaedric Prey also increases the Daedroths dmg.

The disadvantage is that its hard to scale up pet dmg, spell dmg and CPs into elemental dmg are useless for example.

Oh please, raise the Proc Chance and Duration & Speed from the Daedroth. This would be a really nice Set then, for all Players who loves Pets.

At the Moment the most People wear Molag Kena, Dwemer or Nerieth and maybe Valkyn or Bloodbreed. Zos, if you want to make the other Sets more interesting, you should tune their Numbers up.

I have been trying it on my healer. I weave heavy attacks all the time in dungeons for the magicka return and it is proc'ing 7-10 times in the short easy Vet dungeons. It adds additional DPS for a healer just doing what healers do.

This needs a proc rate of 10 percent to be balanced. That is because it barely summons. Please fix this in the next update.

Max hp is always nice.
One more target for enemies.
His breath can easly miss.
Love daedroths, love how they look.
Not for min/maxed builds. Use it if you want extra cool points

have to say other, but I'm really leaning towards not viable. Low proc chance for extra DPS? meh, there are better options for getting DPS up. Other monster sets add +health with one item so what am I really getting with it?

I can maybe see this set used for a dual wielding Dunmer stamina NB or Sorc if you don't have Molag Kena. Hear me out:

Wear 5 pieces of Hunt Leader
Wear 5 pieces of Morkuldin
And 2 pieces of Maw of the Infernal

As a Nightblade or Sorc- you get pets. Nightblades have Shades and Sorcerers have Daedra. You could quite literally have three different sets of pets out. So Shades/Winged Twilight, Morkuldin animated weapon, and a fire-breathing Daedroth.

It'd probably be a niche group... but something rather funny to see. I can imagine a couple of stam sorcs or stam NBs grouped together with their herd of pets chasing enemies down. Creepy.

Can anyone confirm if it the hunt set procs on the deatooth tho? It would be awesome if it did!

From my experience, it seems more of a gimmick than a useful set. The best use is for the 1-piece bonus if you have an open gear slot to fill.

It's the set when you don't yet have almost any other Monster Helm set.

Otherwise, unless you solo and want help with aggro or simply want to provide an additional target to take some of the heat off you, it's about all it's good for.

It is better than it used to be, but it's still far from good.

(Even from the healer perspective, providing something that will pull aggro away from your tank is usually going to mess your tank up more than help them.)

I use this set and it procs all the time as long as you are weaving light or medium attacks to cheat animation cancel.

Ran with it last night. The daedroth proc'd often. It was totally useless for damage, but it did pull aggro very effectively.

Still, I'm not keen on keeping it when I get another matched heavy monster helm set.

Hahaha I like this set! I use it to troll people in PvP. I want to make a Morkuldin/Maw setup on my stamina sorc and throw an army of pets at people (trapping webs included).
