I can only login and switch zones with graphics settings on MINIMUM.

I can only login and switch zones with graphics settings on MINIMUM. Every other option times out and gives that excellent vague catch-all error. Where do I start troubleshooting this? I opened a ticket, jumped through the hoops, but I don't expect a response. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
