Reset bug with shades and cloak?

On my NB I tried using cloak to prepare for veiled strike and it took 2 cloaks to set up correctly which normally isn't a problem but whenever I have shades out enemies often reset right when I hit them. tried it again 5 more times it happened again 3 of those times. Is it just me or is there some bug going on here?
