On the other hand, most of crowns arent leading groups for charity. They do it because they enjoy that role.

Especially by these people.
- The 1vX Snowflake - No matter how many times you say the group should travel together, they're not included in that.
- The Socialiser - It doesn't matter that you just engaged an enemy raid, this person needs to tell you about their awesome day.
- The Backseat Leader - You really should have done this, and you really should be doing that, this person knows all the superior tactics. They won't lead mind you, they're the first to admit they don't have the knowledge required for that.
- The Debater - Something when wrong! Stop the raid! We have to fix this now! No, no, ignore the scroll they just stole, we have to fix this NOW!
- The AP Wh*re - "Damn that was an intense defence, what we're leaving to protect our scroll keep? Hold I just need to AFK because.... reason!"
- Top Gun - This person is the best player in all of ESO. Don't worry if you didn't know, they'll soon inform you how they just killed 12 guys solo while you defending the flags.
- The Crow - If it's shiny, they have to be the first to touch it. Don't worry about those orders to wait for the group at the well or who will carry the scroll, it's shiny so it must be touched.

That also has to do with them being the last to fall. Because when the group leader dies, the group goes down with him. Less time being dead equates to higher AP gain. Not to mention the innate value of the experience and skills a good leader has gained from months and months of leading.

There are leaders who are purposely crowned Emperor by their guild. One way is they will defend a resource from the enemy faction. Then before the Defense tick happens, the players in the group will go out of range of the resource, leaving the leader there by themselves to receive the entire AP tick. Then they will repeat the process.
I'm not saying that all Emperors earn AP this way. But I do know of one who received his Emp title like this. That is one of the reasons they took away the ex-Emp passives.

Whoa, that makes sense actually... seen similar fishy behaviour.
