Running on your mount's back

I'm seeing this all the time now.. It looks like people are running on a treadmill, but in place of a treadmill there is a bear. Freakin hilarious bug and I want to know how to do it! (Until it's fixed at least)

It's happened to me a few times and I've got to be honest, I wish there was a way to do it at will. It is indeed freaking hilarious and I love it.

This has happened to me a few times, and seems to happen when I am auto-running while I mount up. Saw a guy last week doing pushups on top of a Senche so there's some bug there that can be reproduced.

Not sure if that is the trigger because I'm on console and don't believe we have an auto run feature (correct me if I'm wrong).

It's lag. People who wear costumes have the animation of them applying the costume when they first load into your screen. Someone moving quickly will still do the animation, and appear to be standing instead of sitting, because of the animation. Therefore when it doesn't load quick enough they appear to be running instead of sitting, due to the costume animation. Watch for them to be tugging at their arms when they first load.

It's funny but sad. Wrothgar released with so many bugs in the city, constant crashes in orsinium, pink worlds, loading screens on the bridge (That they built with that high angle on purpose to slow you down to allow for a load In the background btw) etc really should be fixed. It's a pain to train and do writs in the city due to constant fear of game crashing back to the dashboard.

Ah...I thought those people were doing it on purpose - well, maybe some of them are. I really think it looks stupid. I thought it was just an issue with the bear mounts, but I've seen people doing this on other mounts as well.

For the first week or so, I didn't have any problems with Orsinium, other than it crashing to desktop once in a while. I didn't start seeing everything in neon pink/purple until a few days ago. Last night, loaded up my character in Orsinium to a purple world and tried to get out of the bank to the wayshrine (I've found that logging out/in doesn't fix it as well as zoning to another area and then back), but I crashed twice more to desktop before getting to the wayshrine. Fourth log-in, and everything was fine for the rest of the evening.

I've only gotten the "standing on horse's back" thing a few times.

However, I get the "dragging your butt on the ground" bug ALL THE FREAKIN' TIME. (example in link)

Haha...that's pretty funny. I've never encountered that bug before, and I've been playing since PC early access (on XB now).

I've never been able to replicate the standing on horses back bug but I did get the butt dragging one last week. Lol

I got a bug today where I went into the crown store and saw a white bear mount priced at 2500, I did laugh !!

You'll never see yourself doing it for the most part, just others doing it. It's when the game is loading a character template that is wearing a costume of some sort. If you notice when you wayshrine in, a half dozen people are putting their costume on for the first time. I wish they'd fix it.

I noticed that mounting inside Eldenroot now acts strangely after last major update. If you click mount and then run right away... your character will take off running and then slingshot onto the mount after a couple seconds.

I must say I never experienced any of the above, been playing Orsinium since it launched.

It is a bug with costumes.

If a player is wearing a costume, other players will see them go through the costume equip animation (which is totally stupid) when that player "zone's in" to view, even if they are mounted.

It is the same as when you log in at a bank and everyone screams and goes through that animation of bending over and wrapping up their hands.

ZOS just needs to make that animation visible to only the player doing it and the problem is solved.

In the meantime, just report it so it goes to the "soon" queue.

You only see it when OTHER players load into your view. You don't see your own costume animation on your mount since you are already wearing it when you mount and can't put on a costume while mounted.

But yes, when other people see you fade into view on your mount with a costume on, you will be running on your mount. At least for the time it takes the animation to paly.

I'm not sure if it always happens or only when the player coming into view crosses a load/phase boundary, but we tested it pretty extensively.

to clarify, I do not ever wear costumes, yet I find my self running on mounts... so it has nothing to do with me?
