'Run as administrator' is required for some reason though, at least for the launcher.
I run windows 10 pro and ran 8.1 pro before the game ran smoothly until recently, I now have random crashes sometimes with a stopped working error but mostly without just randomly closes ... I submitted a ticket and have been waiting... I've reinstalled 3 times now and no difference..
GPU: GTX 760 2GB
CPU: AMD 3.4GHRZ Black Edition Quad core
DirectX: 12
RAM: 8GB DDR3
I was an Imperial Edition Preorder when it was first released and really had no problems the first year, after multiple patches at the begining of this year the game became unstable as far as becoming really laggy and small freezes back and fourth. Eventually unplayable so I stopped my subscription... I had recently received and email asking me to come back and play just the other day and stating that there is a 1 million dollar giveaway now. So I decided I would try it out again, appearently for some reason unknown to me the game randomly crashes now after about 5 mins of game play.. I am well above specs and have tried all of the trouble shooting tricks and advice given on here and throughout the web. No dice!!
I'm hoping for some random fix or help in this issue..... Please
Right now some people are having a bug in ESO with Win 10 since the latest patch where the game will only display a black screen. This can usually be fixed by restarting, but if that doesn't do it then you need to switch from exclusive fullscreen to windowed fullscreen to remedy the problem.

Before I try rolling back my nvidia driver, I would like to try changing to windowed. Can I do this when I only get a black screen after hitting play, and then crash?
I looked for my userconfig file and don't seem to have one.
I have just reinstalled the game. It's been a couple of months since I last had it on my PC, and I upgraded from 7 to 10 in the meantime.
Sorry for my late reply Calamity.
You can manually set this in the usersettings file. The file is located at:
My Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/usersettings.cfg
the option is SET FULLSCREEN_v5 "2"
That "2" is the problem, change it to "1"
If you do not have the usersettings.cfg file, and it is not automatically created when you open the game, we might have a problem. You could try creating it yourself (open notepad, enter the SET FULLSCREEN_v5 "1", save as any file type, name it usersettings.cfg). I do not know if that would work, though. Good luck!
Yeah--so, I don't *have* a usersettings.cfg file.
I am guessing this is because I haven't been able to get it to actually start up.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to roll back my video driver to a specific previous one.
