9 fish to go!

The end is near! I'm in single digits on the fish needed for master angler.

The grind has been crazy hard! Well over 10,000 fish (more like 20k) a few hundred perfect roe, and thousands upon thousands spent on bait, i can say I am close.

The last ones are brutal!! Only needing one specific fish to finish an entire country drags on and on and on. I am posting this while 375 fish deep in alikr desert chasing one blue fish.

Wish me luck? And this is on my vet 7, who I am doing this entirely with my best friend, who is also on 9 fish to go.

My vet 16 is down to 70 to go, which is also well over half way done. I guess I can say I love to fish

I've cleared two factions on my vet 11, fishing solo. It certainly is frustrating at times! I worked on one blue fish in Greenshade for weeks. Only EP lands left to go... and then Cyrodiil which I imagine will be a challenge since I don't do PvP.

Cyrodiil was pretty easy, pick a dead campaign and you hardly see anyone.

Yeah we both have sunk a ton of time and effort into it and worked on it pretty much always together. I find it interesting we both have 9 to go at the same time, and many are different ones but we still help each other.

It's fun and challenging! I swear I will forever use the master Angler title and forever dye all my armor pink!

I'll report back once completed. Anytime now

And a tip.. If you're stuck on one spot too long, I say move on and come back, seems to work better than focusing on one forever.

Down to 7!

Still no luck in the desert. Worked 700 crawlers down to 300, and burned 50 fish roe and still nada.

Will post an update tomorrow. 9 roe today too! But that's after hours and hours of fishing so not too impressive.

Lots of Pearl Jam, rise against, tool and nin to get me through.

I will celebrate like cheech and Chong! And dye all my armor slaughter fish pink of course

Good luck from a Master Angler! It's a title worthy of being proudly shown off.

I found that very last fish, a blue one from Alik'r, to be an absolute pain! Oh, the joy when my main finally yanked it from the water!

He always wears a little bit of pink somewhere on his armour now. Usually his belt buckle.

Being a Master Angler (only title I use), I love fishing threads. Sound advice above: sometimes better to leave and come back rather than casting endlessly when you can't land a fish. Everything else is down to luck. And if you haven't used it, here is the best fishing resource site.

You seem to have been unlucky. I managed to do it all in around 12000 casts give or take a thousand. Good luck though!

BTW: Watching all 9 seasons of X-Files seemed to work perfectly for me. Time flew by fast and everything went smooth.

I got the Master Angler achievement before perfect roe came into existence. I'm still banging my head against a wall over all the fish I sold of to merchants or just trashed

Possibly hundreds of roe I could of had. Oh well back to the fishing

Oh, the Midget Salmon! That was the last fish I needed in Alik'r too.

I go by zone (unless I'm randomly fishing while waiting for someone). I just got the last blue in Malabal Tor and all that stands between me and the Master Angler title are the fish of Reaper's March!

I will work on IC and Wrothgar once I'm done with that.

And yes it is the midget salmon! Funny you guys knew that, and it was the last fish for my buddy as well.

We're both down to 7 fish to go today. I'll keep the thread updated!

And about the 20k casts, a lot of it was learning. We began fishing as noobs because we liked it. We also sold a few hundred fish at first just not knowing better. That's why I love this game, I learn new stuff daily it seems.

I feel I will get the final 70+ on my main much faster now, knowing what I do about patience and moving on after too long.

IC fishing is actually not as bad as you might expect, since the water areas are for the most part out of sight of daedra and players are usually busy hunting either them or other players. My husband and I fished IC without any bother at all.

I had Wrothgar completed within a week of it being released. Caught the purple fish the second day I had the DLC.

I got my purple fish the 2nd day as well (really to busy exploring to fish the first day). Sadly, it will not be as easy to catch that one after a recent patch. If you want to catch it now, you better talk to the NPC fishing in the village below Morkul Stronghold.

WoW! Your my hero.I just took up fishing recently for an achievement and am seriously behind you in numbesr.Caught one green fish,but that's it,but for all the Duhfish and Longfin in the world.I have been catching a lot of Slaughterfish and Trohl though.

Update - down to 5. Caught the midget salmon after well over 500 casts between yesterday and today. My partner is down to 4!

This is obviously one of the hardesr achievements to obtain. Probably a dumb question, but do you get anything other than a title and a new dye for completing it? It REALLY seems like there should be some amazing reward for finishing this brutal grind.

My buddy has finished the battle!!

A full ancient Orc set dyed all salmon pink looks great btw!

I am still stuck on 5 after fishing around 400 more. The grind is getting ridiculous. But I am determined!

I fished over 1000 times for one fish that was the last in a zone. I still have that one in my inventory and won't sell it. Finished the achievement and made hundreds of XP potions.
