A serious question for the ZOS forum staff: why not help people?

I have been holding this back for so long yet I can't any longer this is really starting to upset me I am not bashing anyone in any way I am giving constructive criticism. @ZOS_GinaBruno I remember when I came here there was a sticky about the community visions stating a goal for increased participation from staff what happened to that? Sure sometimes you guys comment but there is a huge gap between the number of fun threads you participate in and the number of serious threads you participate in that is not what I call increased participation perhaps increased goofing off. also, I have yet to see you guys actually trying to assist players in anything (saying something will be fixed/changed in a patch does not count) I understand to a degree but I bet it could really help your PR if instead of commenting about a cat photo you actually provide advice for a player seeking help even if you aren't the first to comment. right now the person I have the highest respect for on this forum is a moderator that says something the reason: it is obvious from his actions that he actually tries to help out every now and then despite the super strict limitations that are imposed to him through all the rules (which makes this almost impossible to do hence the respect). The non moderation staff does not have these rules yet as far as I have seen you never offer to help out. My point is to consider actually try to help out with basic issues more and perhaps if possible allow and actively encourage moderators to help people out in between the whole moderation thing.

Please consider reading this and taking some things into consideration. your cat picture to maximize the chance of a response:

I think its more complicated than just them not wanting to post. Being in that position is probably pretty risky. Anything they say will be seen and judged by a lot, and if they don't word it exactly right, will cause more problems than it would help.

It doesn't help that people have a tendancy to be cynical and jump to conclusions either.

Also when things are subject to change so quickly, what they might have said in a thread might not be what it turns out to be in the end, and then you upset the group that inevitely calls them out on lying.

They could also have orders specifically not to talk about certain things from higher ups.

In the end, keeping quiet could be a safer way to go a lot of the times. Its bound to upset people, but talking could upset more than it pleases. If the community as a whole became more understanding and not so volatile, maybe they'd be more open.

This will never happen, people being people. But we can dream I suppose.

    ^^^ This.

Okay, by "serious thread" I'm going to assume you mean a thread that discusses some aspect of the game and either criticizes it or makes a suggestion for improvement. Consider how this plays out. A member of the Zeni team reads the thread. Even if they like the idea, there are any number of possible reasons why they can't comment, mostly involving the continued development of the game.

This is why "Why don't things get fixed" threads sometimes (not always) miss the point. Take champion points. Why don't they get fixed? Because maybe Zeni's team is working on a larger change in the game that will, in their eyes, "solve" this problem. Yet, because that idea is in development, they cannot comment on the solution. So players sit around thinking the game is not "getting fixed."

We want communication, but then when we finally go get information, we take that information and twist it into something that's very different from what was originally presented.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

The heroes during times of war, are nothing but mass murderers during times of peace.

I dont get What PC Has To Do With This Lololol

    Console player jelly?

On topic: yea the community is pretty toxic after all the failed attempts at lots of things and nothing being corrected since day 1. People will only tolerate so much. I myself am part of the toxic community. I can admit it. Yet I still love the game and everytime I play I am reminded why I love it(new info from Fridays eso live HYPE). 30 seconds later day 1 bugs show up and I remember why I hate it. Or I step into pvp and remember why I hate it....exploiters, day 1 exploits, zergnation, etc etc.

Still love the game and I still pay a monthly sub HOPING they finally fix/ban the things/people that are ruining the game, how long I will continue to show support via monthly sub after almost 2 years of paying, well thieves guild is gonna determine that for me.

If more bugs and exploits are fixed then they create with that patch then I will be in such a happy place with them.

    P.S.

Please start banning people for more than just ruining a RPers event and offending people.....exploiters deserve some of the hammers love to you know

Getting really sick of moderator stamps on threads where they tell people to behave or they will close replies and threads.
