Bear's tail animation

I really like my bear mount (despite the wide leg weird riding animation) but one thing I find a little disconcerting is how it's tail looks like a flap of skin jiggling as it moves it doesn't look at all like I imagine a bear's tail would move.

Has anyone else noticed this?

OK, I googled Bear Tail, and after sifting through some inappropriate images, I have to say, a bear tail is pretty much a flap of skin on the back of the animal. Probably just there to protect the butt orifice. I can't see how it moves any other way than flapping

If I had seen this one first, it would be the only one I would have posted

Well I must admit I have never had reason to look closely at the back end of a bear - but those tails do look similar to the in game one - now if you could find a running video that would be great - after hearing about the inappropriate images I don't fancy typing running bear tail into Google lol

The bears tail is more rounded, but in ESO they are quite flat and literally look like a flap of skin. I had to ride behind Aimora tonight and it was very off-putting. In the end she changed her mount to the guar.
Considering the polar bear mount is probably going to use the same model, I'll sadly not be buying it D:

As to the wide legged walk,a lot of bears are like that.

Here is the best vid I could find of a bear (not a cub) actually running a distance. It does not exactly match the animation but if anything ZoS has actually toned down the bounce you would experience on a back of a real bear (assuming that was possible).

    Tell me about it.

I was so excited to finally get a Guar mount, after having fallen in love with Rollie back in Morrowind that I snatched one up from the guild store. Then I rode it and did not like the aesthetics. If they had the character pull their legs up more, kind of like how a Jockey rides, it would look so much better on a beast mount.

There would be absolutely nothing comfortable about riding a bear in real life. There's only so much ZOS can do.

Well that is true I guess - Although I imagine them to have a really lush thick coat and it to be a fairly snuggly experience :)
