Templar's Passive 'Balanced Warrior' is not Balanced.

This passive can be found under the Aedric Spear tree and it increases weapon damage by 6% and spell resistance by 2640. How come there's no increase in spell damage?

This is a very good question. The passive should effect both as many of the other passives in weapon and class skill lines do.

Probably because ZoS does not pay much attention to how changes in the game undermine the mechanics already in place. See: Dragonkights.

But, yeah, this passive should be change and I told them multiple times in multiple threads. Don't hold your breath.

When this passive was final, almost 2 years ago, balanced characters was a thing. Think that's partly why.

Everyone needed weapon power prior to 1.6, including magicka builds, because it boosted staff skills. Healers needed weapon power, staff dps needed weapon power, bow users needed weapon power and so on. So the passive was definitely bringing balance to any build.

Now everything is divided into spell- and weapon power and you no longer have to guess what different abilities scales of. Soft caps where removed. Only "unbalanced warriors" are viable. So the passive feels a bit outdated.

Would be great if they updated or changed the passive, to benefit all builds, the way it used to. However, stamina templars needs more help and buffs than magicka templars right now. They get even less out of templar passives. So there's others passives I rather they focus on first, to help stamplars with better self-healing for example.

DKs have a passive that increases spell res but not physical res. Don't worry you templars we DKs have silly skills too that ZOS still refuses to do anything about either though they said they would for the past 2 or 3 updates.

Probably, they thought that the Dawn's Wrath 5% spell dmg buff is enough..

It was a way different passive even before that, it got its name from something else. Something burried in the very early stage when things had good ideas but someone wasnt smart enough to balance it back then and listened to complaining *** who made the game the crap it is now.

They made it so you can be a stam or mag build
    WOLFPVCK : PVP

I agree it should be both spell and weapon but we already get the boost from dawns wrath. Maybe that's how they made it even for stam and mag

This passive was good before 1.6 because templars mostly ran hybrid builds.

For now, the templars passives (all 3 trees) are old school and don't fit well with the new 1.6+ meta. Templars needs a complete rework : stamplars are dead, magplars can only be good in a healingbot situtation.

Every class has a group buff like that. That has nothing to do with the ballances warrior passive
