I am all through Grahtwood, Greenshade and now in Malabal Tor and no one recognizes that I am a Bosmer. It is so irritating. I'm not tall like a Altmer and I'm not a cat. It's obvious from my short stature and the fact that I ritually partake in cannibalism that I am a Bosmer. Why do they not realize that? I'm going to get a complex.

Well as an Altmer I'm surprised you would think anyone would recognize a lowly Bosmer like yourself. Be thankful you are not so grotesque as a Nord or Argonian, uck such pitiful beings.

You are asked to slaughter large quantities of your own race in each of your own alliance.Slaughtering own alliance races makes up the bulk of what you are killing in normal if you actually pay attention.

What's an Altmer? I've heard rumors around Riften of a pale, skinny, overall physically inferior race of knife-ears similar to Dunmer, but I wrote it off as drunken bar talk. Could the rumors be true?

There are very, very specific cases where your race is acknowledged - usually by random guards - but overall it's just not as immersive

Kidding aside I think it goes a lot with voice acting though.

Making random quips race specific for the bunch of superfluous dialog isn't that much work.

Making 10 different voice acted lines for EVERY QUEST, becomes umm.... (20 if they go gender specific)

So when you take that into account, it isn't very surprising. What could be nice, and if it's true for Orcs in Wrothguar, is going forward they add 1 diff recognization dialog version if you play the race of the current zone.

I was really startled when I did Wrothgar for the third time - first with a khajiit, next with an argonian, and lastly with an orc - that one of the NPCs explicitly stated that since I was an orc, and changed her spiel from the first two times I spoke to her on other characters.

My werewolf is still privately amused that a werewolf hunter enlisted her help against other werewolves. No mention of the fact that she was one herself at all.
