Seriously though the drop rate of this is shocking! Unless there is some fight club secrecy going on here and the farmers are going to pop up in a day or 2 and whack a load of scraps up on ps4 then I don't know.

The Decon rate is still 1 per item and when I manage to finally get 10 scraps (after an hour farming) I get 7-10 pieces. I need 700 more bits and hell if I am paying 300 a piece on the eu server.

I have 8 chars. I am trying to get enough together to outfit my VR14, who will be VR15 when I want. I can level 10% VR in 15 minutes if I want.

I guess I'll end up buying it. Very Strange. I can outfit a VR16 in Light and Heavy but cannot get enough Robedo together to do my VR15 DK at a 10% of the mat cost.

This is broken. A Clothier, which last time I looked, includes Medium Armor has a good chance to accumulate Ancestor Silk by doing surveys. I have over 300 now. No chance to get any Rubedo at all.

I do not enjoy murdering hordes of beasts to get this stuff. It's a stupid mechanism.

This is why I am going with a dropped Medium v16 set from Cyrodiil for my stamina toon. Took me 2 hours killing animals in Wrothgar to get the rest of the mats I needed for 1 piece for my Magic toons crafted set. Decon'ing did help, but I seemed to have never gotten very many rubedo equips from enemies.

That's what I mean something has to be done about the drop rate or surveys having some sort of leather because silk and ingots. Are pretty easy to come buy but leather is like gold dust.

If you're on Xbox one eu I'll gladly trade you all the leather you want for silk and wood. Got over 1000 bits at the moment and no one is buying it. Have over 400 on sale at just 10k a stack and no one taking it all. Cheapest on the market too

If you've got access to IC, isn't it only like 100 TV stones for this mat? Granted though, that's a lot of time in the sewers for 700 pieces..

I'm ps4 and yeah I'll need about 90k in stones to buy enough. And seeing as you only get about 300-400 from the arena chest that's a hell of a lot of grinding. Plus in a group over 12 the rate starts to drop.

Because of your post I made a check in my inventory.
Rubedo was substantial less in my inventory

After the Quests, I am roaming quite a bit in Orsinium, farming everything that crosses my path: nodes, monsters, animals, chests, dailies. Farming everything without any preference.
I need most badly Kuta's, Tempers, Rosins, Dreugh Wax and Potions for MA. I had my current Armor already upgraded to Vet 16 in IC.

Factual Rates Mats roughly:
3 Rubedite Ingot
3 Ancestor Silk
3 Ruby Ash
2 Rubedo Leather

Easy to fix by ZOS.
It would not harm anyway if ZOS would make a Statistics run on all Vet 16 characters to measure the demand and actualise the balance of Mats.

yeah it's crazy...50 talvar stones for1. I want to make a new 5 piece VR16 set, so need like 700 leather...or 35,000 stones.

Make about 2,000 and hour solo (if I don't get ganked)...so about 17hrs of grinding for one 5 piece set.

Yeah some stuff drops that I can decon, and can buy/trade with people to cut that down, but still, anything over a total 5hr grind is silly.

Grind out in the new delves and dungeons and Decon everything. Even look in guild stores for crafted V16 goods. They give back around 40+mats. Shame though I have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of the stuff and no one is taking it. Xbox is honestly flooded with the stuff. Silk is going 1k per piece at the moment. Stupid how different the platforms have turned out.
I wouldn't grind IC it's risky now as so many gankers out there just watching you to make the kill. As if they cba to grind and just stalk you round and round and wait for you ro accumulate 10000s of them and then bang dead. Shanked in the back by a dirty NB.

It's kinda funny because the thing I want most is Ancestor Silk but have found it the hardest to get. I have to depend on one clothing hireling and Rewards for the Worthy decons as I do not have Orsinium. I seem to get the metal and wood counterparts at a much better rate.

Anyway, now that Orsinium has been released, V16 mats' cost has been reduced from 100 tvs per piece to 50. Also, guesting some less populated campaign makes it easier to grind tvs in Sewers. If you can take multiple groups of daedra, you can farm a lot pretty quickly.

I'd rather recommend grinding Sewers during early hours (2am-6am) if you are able to.

Don't you know ? ZOS hates crafting heance why hard to find the materials even with Orsinium and why VR16 gear cost 10X of that of vr15.

I was going for the Romeo and Juliet story as this leather story is such a sad state of affairs.

I maxed out all the crafting but still as a v16 haven't found 1 v16 rune, hardly any v16 mats in a v16 zone, I don't want void as I can't use it!

ZOS really need to figure something out with this. I totally understand that they don't want everyone to be maxed out and to OP but at the same time people including me are getting a bit miffed about the drop rate of both in IC and Wrothgar. Maybe a simple buy with gold instead of stones would be good or to be able to buy the sets in the crown store (Molag kena cough cough).

You find so many VR16 ores??
When I'm in Wrothgar for many hours (even when it's, let's say 10 hours), I find no more than 3-4 nodes. No matter at which times I'm on (day or night or whenever).
Even worse it's with Ancestor Silk and the Leather!
The stuff I find most (even a lot more often than in the last 3 Gold zones and Craglorn) are the VR14 mats!

I have all these skills maxed, all passives activated including the Keen Eye passive.
So I end up buying that stuff for a fortune.. for every character (except for one).

What I don't understand is.. how the hell do other players find so many of these mats? In the guild stores, I keep seeing players who sell TONS of STACKS of all kinds! Where do they get those????

So Rubedo leather had been reduced from 100 to 50 Tel Var Stones.

The best way to farm it is in Imperial City, that way you get the leather scraps from the monsters + shadow hide which is good cause you'll be refining lots of that and getting a few Wax.

There is 2 spots that I know of in Orisinium that are alright for farming the Rubedo Scraps but that spawns screw up sometimes and takes a few minutes to come back every now and again so not that great.

Also, make sure you have your clothing maxed of course so they drop.

Must admit the amount of resources needed for the damn VR16 items is insane, given the scarcity of the resources also.

Tbh there is a cheap solution to the problem. Make a nice blue (or purple if you have the mats) of VR15, and take your time to gather up and replace the items with VR16 ones one at the time.


Also I would advice you not to "rush it" spending all the gold and time, because when the removal of the VR comes in, everything will scale differently. Go for the cheap options and enjoy the game. Thats how I do it.

I have 800+ rubedoite ingot I still need to sell since orsinium release. I have a surplus it's not even funny. How I got this much? I played the game normally, deconned the drops, did the daily writs (hooray for chance of a survey!), and harvest node when I see those little cute red things on the ground. Oh and btw I barely get to play around these days but either way.....It's. Not. That. Hard. I. Quit. Complaining.

We all have Rubite, I dunno, ingots. It's Rubedo Leather that's a pain to acquire.

Most of my Hireling mails for my Master Clothier thus far have given Rubedo Leather Scraps. I think one, maybe two were Raw Ancestor Silk.

No you are not. I got enough to make my VR16 stuff In my first run trough Orsinium with my main picking up everything on my way to quests,world bosses and delves. With mats from decons It is not that bad. Much better than what we had when I come out.

I would have really liked if MSA and vMSA had the normal trash drop chance. The quest rewards can't really cover the expenses.and a terrible RNG grind becomes even less appealing.

We all have Rubite, I dunno, ingots. It's Rubedo Leather that's a pain to acquire.

Learn location of bears in Orsinium. Find a route that you like and grind. From what I have seen leather on bears is less plagued by the RNG than other mats.

All part of the plan to keep us here, because ZOS knows we might quit because of their bull *** at any point if we don't have something to grind toward.

10x the amount of mats from v15 to v16 is beyond stupid. 2/3/4x the amount, sure whatever. Make it a grind. But 10x is far too much for anyone who doesn't spend 6 hours in game every day (or prefers to pvp; both of those things apply to me.)

Unfortunately, I decided to not get the IC DLC because I'm not a big PvP fan, so I never saw any of these stones with my own eyes. Imo, every new zone (DLC) should have the same chance for every player getting the hands on enough of the new materials.
