If animation canceling doesn't matter someone 1v1 me and I'll use it and you don't.

i know its a dead horse but......

Animation cancelling, i simply just cant get it down. i have tried and tried for hours on end practicing it over and over again, iv watched videos, read guides and i still cant get it down. so my dps suffers form it, i miss out on content because of it. iv gotten ridiculed in 4 man dungeons for not doing it, so i stopped doing them, i havnt done any trails, since i cant do it(iv gotten kicked out out of pug groups, so i stopped doing trails). i get owned in PvP all the time since i cant do it.

i know ZOS has said they like and will not be doing anything about it, to me this sounds like they just dont have any clues on how to stop it.

i know im not the only out there like this.

so what i am supposed to do? i really do enjoy/love this game but if i cant simply do the content whats the point?

and before anyone says it ill say it first
"if you cant animation cancel then you just suck and should find a different game"

That's funny because in a Stamina Sorc thread you said this:
i do just fine dps 15-20k on my stam sorc, dont know whats everyones problem is. with the class and build.

I don't know many people achieving 15K-20K DPS who are getting kicked from pug groups. Sorry but I smell a rat.

    This.
Also, I'm worried that if Zos removes weaving possibility completely, the combat will be more clunky. There should be some limitations instead, to prevent using oneshotting macros in pvp and such.

You don't *have* to animation cancel to do well in PvP.

I run around with two swords and fling range spells - that ridiculous ESO staple - which means zero animation canceling at all and I manage to kill a few people each night.
It's sad the update ZOS devotes to performance improvements has degraded Cyrodiil to lows not seen since the Infamous "Lighting Patch"" of June 2014.

This made me think of a small point to make here. Not all builds rely on or require animation canceling to be successful. If you aren't going to be animation canceling, just don't play a build that is built around it. Example: If the build you're looking at needs you to weave light attacks for resource management or DPS (siphoning attacks or merciless resolve for example) then look at another build.

Alternately, you could play something that's better off doing a medium attack weave (since animation canceling medium attacks is so much easier) a Dstaff, or 2h with wrecking blow as main DPS. I think pretty much anyone playing can hold down the basic attack button and press an ability key at a regular interval to medium weave.

A lot of animation cancelling comes naturally and I think that's how ZOS wanted it. For example, say you whip but quickly dodge roll to avoid some incoming damage, or when you quickly hold block after swinging your sword - you just animation cancelled. Made to make combat smoother.

When I discovered that, that's when I thought 'Hey, I can cut short these animations with X and allow myself some extra maneuverability and cut my attacks short'

For PvE, it's not needed at all really, so don't worry.

In PvP? It gives you that edge and I will admit, is key in doing well on stamina builds. Although, it doesn't mean that you can't be competitive without necessarily putting a name to it and focusing on it.

My advice? Play the game and let it come naturally, you do well enough without taking the advantage of its full use.
