The future of ESO - Simple questions

Skexis
Skexis
I starting to have my doubts about this game. Having stuck with it since beta, it simply doesn’t seem to move in the direction I personally like to play. So straight up I’d like some answers from Zenimax.

VR Levels.
Will these ever be removed?

Content.
Will the old content be scaled to the new content? Basically, will it ever be possible to choose where to farm for nodes, do dailies, dungeon delves, trials etc? Or do the new business model chosen take this scenario out of the equation?

Crafting.
Will the crafting system ever be updated so you remove the level tier items?
Basically means removing different cloth, wood, metal, water and potency runes which fills no real function in a game revolving around end game.

Pledges/Dailies.
Will pledges/dailies start to address people with different IRL schedules? Like for example make them week based (for example 7 pledges a week, do when you like)?

Experience gain.
Will this be normalized?
Basically meaning make it possible to play the game how you as customer want to play it.
The current chosen path centering on making max amount of characters leveling them, gaining enlightenment on them and farming keys ever be addressed?
Will you be able to play how you like with the character you like and have the same experience gain?
This includes running dungeons (certainly hard dungeons and trials), trials or questing. Currently you penalize certain play styles and rewards certain play styles.

The last one is a game breaker which in my opinion will spell doom to this game as whole, and certainly have punched a hole in my trust. No catch up system can remedy that since there is no baseline. Overcoming hard content is simply a timewaste for example, certainly teaching others is. Not alting and simply enjoying to evolve one character is the surest way to fall behind in CP gain.

Maybe these questions are asked a lot, I don’t know. But I certainly haven't seen these major issues ever been addressed.
So Zenimax? Will they? Or are all of these questions simply not on your to do list?

Definitely. New content could sell if it was fun or brought something to the table in terms of gameplay, but if they make old content obsolete, which requires little to no effort, new content will sell no matter what.
And they basically replaced $15/month fee with $25-30 every 2-3 months, which is almost as good, and added the cash shop on the top of it.

Agree with your sentiments in the OP, and really like the suggestion:

    "Pledges/Dailies.
Will pledges/dailies start to address people with different IRL schedules? Like for example make them week based (for example 7 pledges a week, do when you like)?"

As far as the content goes, what disappoints me the most is that the archetype for all the original zones allowed for solo play (except for the Group dungeons obviously), and both DLCs trend towards group play (even in Orsinium regarding the World Trial Bosses and Zone Main Quest sections).

Also the focus on increasing the difficulty while significantly ramping up the RNG for rewards is not appealing to me at all.

The answer too your first question is 'yes' they continue to state that they will be removed.

Your second question I agree with and would love for the world to "open" back up for a equal challenge no matter where you choose to play, I hate wasted content!

The crafting junk that we out level is there to stay, we may see a revamp someday like we did with provisioning...

Pledges and dailies are what they are, dailies, you cant log in and do then w/e do it tomorrow it shouldn't be a big deal imo.

I believe answering your second question would take care of this one and I agree certain styles of play shouldn't be penalized.

CP is a hot button topic but it really should have been separate from pvp to solve the issues that arise from endless leving, but, CP's aren't as effective as everyone seems to think they are. A meta build geared correctly trumps CP's every day.

Edit: Something I'd like to see is more currency systems and less RNG, I'd rather have 100 different currencies (here's looking at you Neverwinter) than RNG walls for everything cool i.e skins, polymorphs, crafting chapters.

Cp may not trump proper gear in pvp, however, I'm left wondering if the game I'd being balanced around the CP rather than taking time to do the opposite. It's absurd how resource costs are getting, seriously, if you use any skill outside your gear and cp reduction it uses practically your entire resource pool. Crazyness.

Yes, they already said that, and even game a deadline.

You talking about the craft level'd resource nodes everywhere? yes, that may be done. And expect further 'syncing' when they remove vet ranks.

I don't quite understand that.. It's an MMORPG.. End-game is END-game, it IMPLIES stuff before it. They are not going to let you create a Max Everything template for character.

No... people do that multi character thing because they want. not because they 'need'.. and Experience is gained normally. what the heck you talking about? it's not like your characters will not level if you don't murder that specific mob or do that specific quest or dungeon.

soooo your issue with CP is ? .... Oh right, probably that they exist.
Well, sucks to be you then. Again, we make do. they do make a heck of a difference, but once you get like 200, wich is fairly easy, it's not that much of an improvement later on, specially with the cap at 500something.

If you stayed since beta you should have seen these questions in the forums by now. You're just another one, and this thread will just be another one that makes it to 3 pages of decent posts, then zeni deletes the offensive ones, some of wich i assume will be directed to me, then someone takes it personal and the thread goes to a 10-page term no one reads.

If you don't understand maybe you should refrain from trying to reply?

Having a crap system with different tiers that serves no purpose does not mean that otherwise you could be able to craft endgame gear at max level of everything for no cost or investment.

A theory is that the high amount of Rubedite on tier VR 16 is a pre-configuration for removing different material tiers and just use amount as investment.

But the question remains. Will the game keep uninteresting material in the game that serves no purpose, or will it be normalized and actually serve a purpose?

It doesn't suck to have a job. It makes it possible for a supplier of a game to have customers. If the game don't facilitate the majority of a "normal" persons IRL. People will distance themselves and play a game that facilitate their playstyle. I fail to see how an old re-hashed concept of "dailies" fill that function.

You gain different amount of XP depending on what you do. You gain different amount of keys if you use 1 or 8 characters.

I don't have a problem with CP's. I have a problem with how you gain XP. Read the question. But... The cap would never have been implemented if there was no issue here.

Just because I play doesn't mean I am a forum troll.

And yes VR levels has been talked about to remove, it's just that it never seem to happen. It just creates more and more useless content, dungeons, trials and zones that doesn't scale and makes it completely uninteresting and unchallenging to play.
VR level removal was mostly spoken before it became DLC based. So the question remains is that still the case with the new business model?
I know that Zenimax rarely answers anything, but it would be nice to glean a timeframe or plan. My patience is coming to an end regarding basic functionality. Everything from bugs, that should have been fixed ages ago, to making a solid platform that you can build interesting content on.

I wish the game wouldnt get all scaled. I'll probably wind up playing a different game if so,and I hate even thinking that. Only because it wont feel like it's worth working hard to make my stats work well with my character.I wont have to worry about wearing any gear that has better stats than what I began with. It wont matter anymore.

I'd like to se the RNG based off class.

For instance, my mage (light armour, staves) most often finds heavy armour, two handed weapons and always medium armour stuff.

My Imperial Templar (heavy armour, sword & shield) most often finds light armour and staves and always finds medium armour stuff.

My Bosmer NB (medium armour, bow) most often finds heavy armour and light armour & staves. She rarely finds medium armour stuff or bows and they are never useful when she does.

I seem to recollect Skyrim was notorious for this "mind reading" conflict. You know, think about what you want/need most right now and the RNG throws at you the opposite. Every time!

Please, ZoS, let RNG chance to gain weapons/armour based off the class so that a mage can find mage gear and so forth. Even if it wasn't suitable gear, she could at least deconstruct it and learn the trait or gain crafting mats for her class gear.

I make my characters wear the gear that ESO, (and common sense) dictates. So why this contradiction when it comes to RNG gear drops that very often works out as being totally useless for that class? I cannot even give that stuff to my alts that could benefit from it when it suits their class because of the level requirement.

Atm, RNG = no gain for class, small gain for hybrids. I dislike playing as a mage in heavy armour and 2 handed weapons etc, but I haven't got a disagreement if anybody else wants to play like that, before anybody points that out.
