Make the wold tangible

Why don't do everything tangible?

NPC are tangible, but why not players? because they could block gates?

I have a solution if a player is standing in a place without do nothing, then you can push him away. Many players together? domino effect. I would apply this also to NPCs for example. I'm tired of runing and sundenly an NPC is on the way and block me like a rock.

Positive things, Cyrodill, players standing in doors or zerging would have necessary to move, to leave place to the others to come in. If many players go in at the same time, they stuck all together in door, that would be amazing funny. The people should have to think more when playing :D

What do you think?

Pretty sure he means adding collision mesh to players. It's a great idea tbh, it's just easily exploited by griefers.

    Yeh, that^ unfortunately.
It would be kind of awesome to actually be able to have tanks make a Shield Wall with archers behind and such but I doubt it would work given the tendency of modern gamers to cheat, exploit, grief and scam.

    I think it's a great idea.

I'm tired of stuff being avoided because 'someone will use it to grief'.

Would solve stacking in pvp too because no longer possible!

Its been done in other games.

Great Idea (Wasnt warhammer like this? cant remember)

    It makes tanks, tanky!!

But so easy to grief other players that its never sucessfull.

Like so many things that are good, its the players themselves who screw it up.

People talk about the terrible lag in Cryodil, remember how good it was before the cheat code was introduced?

Its a pity the players can never be trusted :(

Terrible idea, specially because, on most cases, collission is calculated via a ping-compensation systems

At worst, your ping could double the second you touch another player, with your movement becoming jittery.

As someone said already "good luck using the crafting stations". And players would be able to attack other players outside the pvp zone. So
    NO!

in warhammer online, you would not collide with friends, only enemies.

Exactly this is what I mean :D

and I'm talking about collide with friends and enemies.

The thing is that if someone is not moving, is staying in the same place, you can push him to the side. If you leave your char afk in the border of a pit, then good luck... xD

If a huge number of players are staying in a door blocking it, then when you push one, you move all of them in a domino effect. As more players together the push is more strong, blowing all them more far away.

If a player is moving, at least something, you can't push him!

This would be great for combat. If you assault something in Cyrodill, 30 people can't stand in the same small area all together, they need to move, to make place for the others to come in.

This was hilarious in Ultima Online where you could lure people inside your house and just stand at the exit killing them while they were trying to figure out how to get the hell out.

NO collision to players.I get annoyed enough trying to get past NPCs who wont move and I cant go through them to get into a dungeon,or through a gate.
Oh,and if players were s tatic(tangible) you couldnt get near the bankers. You couldnt get past anyone.Like the twenty or thirty players at each bank.lol!

People would block banks, crafting stations, quest entrances, traders, shops and basically everywhere you need to go to play the game. Yes, people are THAT annoying.

But if you get too far from NPCs ect things get canceled including merchant sales and I bet crafting griefers would push anyone away from merchants to force them out of the menu constantly so no not a good idea.

I dont know, I think that are problems with solution. Crafting stations can be a portion of area, where with only get in you can open the craft station you need, something like in FFXIV. If not, well player are tangible everwhere except banks, crafting areas and etc.

As I said before, if a player is blocking a way, you can push him to the side, only with walking in that direction, but only if the player is static, standing in the same position without moving, like afk, if the player is moving, you can't push him.

no!! with the amount of players concentrating around crafting stations, doors etc...this would do more harm then good!

I like how PlayStation Home handled this. when a player game into near proximity of another player, the other players model stepped aside.

Walking through Player Characters is extremely annoying and in contrast to not being able to walk through NPCs it does give me a weird "out of space" sensation.... but I've gotten used to it I guess.

Oh, and in ESO NOW if you dodge-roll, you can go through NPCs, this could be the solution for PCs as well, dodge roll through griefers trying to block something.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

    QFT

I'd like to see this in PvP zones, switched off in PvE or at least in towns/crafting locations/banks etc
