Assuming that the "Prophet" was the Emperor (because he was called as such), he is an Imperial.
And about your second question, well what am I supposed to say? I don't even know what animation you mean. But either way there are definitely a lot of skills for each class that have specific/particular animation while holding a weapon in the right hand.
His name is a dead giveaway too: Varen Aquilarios
Dudes...that the "Prophet" was the Emperor
yes, ZOS is starting to add Class Morphs and is going to call the Magicka Class Morph of Templar the Prophet in his honor!!!

I don't think they'll do Class morphs... Skills, yea, they should be at least a little variable, but Classes? No.
How would they even implement it ? It's nice as it is ;p
Imperial
His name is a dead giveaway too: Varen Aquilarios (Roman sounding, and the Imperials are based on the ancient Romans)

Major spoiler, the guy had just created a character.
# Post.
Prophet is an Imperial. Never stated it's class.
And yes, all cast animations are the same for all races, what changes it is the weapon type that you have equipped.
