Question about score calculation in Maelstrom arena vet

Hello,

After several runs I noticed that I had a difference between the leaderboard score and the current score.



You can see for this run my best score is 401139 but you can read 416139 in current score so 15000 more points.

I don't understand why I lose this 15000 points. I don't use sigil, run under 90min and 9 deaths.

If someone could inform me, it would be nice

Deaths?
I believe VMA is following the same rules as everything else, Time is more valuable than anything else and you can probably use sigils to boost your time to burn certain bosses and gain more points rather than lose them if you don't die.

This is just what I think anyway, it seems you have to be around 1 hour and less than 10 minutes to gain a 400,000 score

Is this confirmed to be true? Would be the first time deaths have meant something hugely important to scores judging from the look of that

But i see the difference in my all runs, and i have different number of death and value of the penality is in each case the same : 15000

May I know the exact time of your complete?
Was it around 1:08:05??

This is just what I think anyway, it seems you have to be around 1 hour and less than 10 minutes to gain a 400,000 score

Sigils>Time>Death

Using no sigils will grant you a HUGE boost to points.

I had a run with 1h05min and end up with 375k points and spamed sigils.
I had a run with 1h22min and ended up with 401k points no sigils used

Yes i agree with you. But I don't uderstand why I have this different of 15000 points. I think it's a bug ...

There is some hidden calculation to get the final score. My score on the right is always higher than my final score. Not 100% sure why but even on no death runs with no sigil use its different. I would need to check if mine is always 15k less but if it is then I expect it would be a bug.

Also nifty 400k run is very dependant on deaths. It's between 1:10 and 1:20 I've gotten 400k scores with fewer deaths allowing for a longer time as you would expect.

I heard that there is a big penalization for dying which surprised me because I figured that having to redo a round would be penalty enough.

I got my 363600 score with 1:17:07 but a horrible amount of deaths 488, used like 8 sigils, any idea how many points they take off?

I also just did a really slow run 1:24:??, game crash and blue screen after an fps drop, more deaths 481, a lot more sigils and I got 362k

I wonder if it's deaths that matter way more than a sigil does etc

Time definitely matters quite a bit. Dymence who has a 463k on his sorc did a no death no sigil run in 53:45 and my 458k was a no death no sigil run but I did it in 56:20 so it seems it's about 2k points a minute. And sigils take off a lot. In one of my runs I went 30 or so seconds faster than erudition's run but used 2 sigils and was like 1.5k score behind him. Dymence old score of 458k was a 54:30 or so and he had no deaths but used 3 sigils so he was just under 2 minutes faster than me but barely a better score. So if you're going for top score don't use sigils if possible lol.

made some tries with my templar

1:10 0deaths 0powerups -> 427k
1:08 2deaths 0powerups ->429k

so deaths doesn't really matter it seems.

Does use of sigils affect only the score or loot too?

The points from the last boss are not being added to the leader board score when you complete. So every run on the leader board needs exactly 15k points added to it.
