Step 1. Become a prominent and recognizable force in PvP.
Step 2. The other faction will report your name as offensive to troll you.
Step 3. ZOS always takes these reports seriously and gives you a warning for your innocuous name and you get a forced name change.
It happened to a few of my characters and it happened to my friend Hovaling.
There was nothing offensive about his name, it was just his nickname from college or something. However, some very immature people tired of dying to him on the other team reported him constantly and ZOS takes multiple reports to mean serious problem - unless its reports of cheating or hacking in PvP, then those get ignored.
This also happened to my beloved Non-vet toon Daedric Car Bomb.
The other way to do it is to talk a lot in a starter Zone. Even if one fragile carebear in PvE reports your name and says their immurzunz were hurt by it, you will get a free name change!!!
You may have to go out of PvP to do it though. My toon Pelvic Sorcery was PvPing for months with no problem. Stepped out into the main zone to buy stuff, got reported by some scrub. Bam there goes my awesome name.
The lusty argonian maid is ok but pelvic sorcery isn't? Logic need not apply.
TL:DR Have someone report you and pretend to be offended. ZOS will force the change. Exploit in PvP for months, get away with it.

or maybe someday ZOS would implement it right into the game, for in-game gold. that would be good!

Dunno why, but that made me lol irl. Epic name, shame you had to change it, wait, how could someone take offence from that name? I don't get it.

Pretty sure it had something to do with the r-word. The bad one. The really bad one that once you utter it in the wrong context, another (usually) female player will report it. It makes the name "Pelvic Sorcery" into a horribly insensitive joke.

Honestly I'd prefer a barber shop long before a rename mechanic.
My guess? Understood context. Even though it is more than not used in jokes that usually have a lewd undertone, its prevalent in the ES series has delegated it to the rather secure status of strictly being a humorous--if slightly suggestive--quip. Yeah, I know, it barely makes any sense to me too.Yolokin_Swagonborn wrote: »Shader_Shibes wrote: »Yolokin_Swagonborn wrote: »My toon Pelvic Sorcery

Its a reference from the guardians of the galaxy movie. But you are right, anyone can pretend to be offended for any reason and usually get a mod to sympathize.
But how is Pelvic Sorcery any worse than anything in the lusty argonian maid book series.

I never understood the whole "I want a barbershop to change my characters appearance". If you had created it correctly in the first place, wouldn't that be unnecessary ?

And I didn't know that about it being a reference to the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The more you know...
Once upon a time, there was a bug in the character generator that dit not let people zoom in on their character faces to get them right.Nyghthowler wrote: »I never understood the whole "I want a barbershop to change my characters appearance". There's an EP toon named Crucifux right now and that is apparently ok but hovaling is religiously offensive. LOL.
