Are there too many Bind On Pick-up (BOP) sets in the new content?

We've seen Imperial City and Orsinium drop in the past year, both exciting new content that I have thoroughly enjoyed playing. However, of the ~32 new sets (excluding crafted sets) 23 of these are BOP with random traits and pieces dropping.

I have a few issues with this as guild traders seem less useful as people largely just sell motifs, mats, potions and Willpower/Endurance/Agility (who goes to a guild trader to find armour pieces lately...). Furthermore, many of the decent sets are BOP, random traits, and somewhat difficult to obtain (e.g. Spell Power Cure, Overwhelming, Sheer Venom, Briarheart, Scathing). I don't want to swell my bank space with all these sets, I want to be able to sell some of them on to people who would give them more of a loving home.

This game is an MMORPG, but I feel like the armour drops are forcing people to play for themselves and grind parts of the game they aren't as interested in.

Would people prefer more Bind On Equip (BOE) sets over BOP? Could some of these sets be unbound?

I don't like this either there are so many sets out there that our BOP and as a main
PVER myself I get these often now my inventory is filled with useless crap sets ill never use or want and cant do anything with them sure I could deconstruct them for maybe 1 purple mat? doesn't seem worth it I need to be able to sell these or trade them to friends I am having a harder and harder time making money threw PVE

Definitely too many, the hardest content in the game gives the smallest rewards in XP and Gold.

Yes, far too many. I'm all for certain things only being available if you own the DLC, but making every single new set BOP is overkill.

Don't even get me started on money. I'm down to about 50K gold total between all my characters. I use normal magicka pots in raids now just to save money

I get why they are doing it, but it seems like the cheapest, laziest option. The economy seems to be based solely on motif fragments, and mats. They've completely messed up the economy for gear at least. The only reason you really see gear in kiosks is if you are looking for research items. I get that they want to force you to buy the content, but wrothgar is an excellent area, it would sell on its oqn. And if they wanted, they could put a gear check that wouldn't allow you to equip it if you didn't have the expansion. It's stuff like this that is going to slowly kill the game. Instead of attracting newcomers it will make ppl think screw that.

My friend is collecting Trinimac's Valor set, and the worst part is I can't even give this stuff away to people who would use it. Instead I have to sell it to a merchant for a small handful of gold.
Like, there is literally nothing I can do with it. What's the point of having a daily quest to receive something I can't use or give to someone in need?
I totally understand the necessity for BoP on some things, but in Orsinium it went a little far. I won't be doing the dailies any more because it's just a waste of time. The last 3 items I received were all purple, but BoP and useless to me.
Orsinium was looking great until I came across that little gem.

Yes, this game is characterized by wrong decisions in too many areas. One of the reasons, it is still successful, is the lack of alternatives. BOP-itemization is only the top of the iceberg!

either that or they will "fix" this with a crown store related solution.

My Suggestion:
Introduce a new woodworking/blacksmithing/clothier Passive that allows you to unbound items(except Master Weapons) or unbound dlc items.The required mat for this unbounding is a drop from max level writs.Would be then rewarding to do max lvl writs aswell.

I would understand if the sets were OP like crazy, but those sets are just random trash which would be nice to sell....but ZOS siad no.

Let this be a sign ZOS. No one likes BOP. BOP is so stupid. I can't use it, I can't sell it. It's trash.

Keep things BOP except for the really Rare/Hard stuff. Let everything else stay BOE.

I hate the BoP thing. It feels like the only reward I'm getting for spending an hour waiting outside a boss is stuff to clutter my inventory. Explain to me how that is any better and makes a more enjoyable experience?

Earn it by facing challenges like vMA? You'll lose more gold than you earn going in there. Much is the same for a lot of the end game content

Doesn't make much sense either since most of the sets suck.

It's not like people without Wrothgar DLC, would run to the nearest guild store to buy a full set of Para Bellum or Trinimacs Valor.

I mean I get that end-game is supposed to be a gold and time sink, but to have absolutely 0 chance of making profit out of solo arena is a bit weird.

Back to farming mats I guess ? Atleast there are nodes with Ancestor Silk etc...

unsuprised by the poll, of course the player base would love to be able to sell their unwanted gear, or buy their last set piece, or actually swap out some set pieces for those with better traits. But i suppose this is being prevented for a reason by ZOS. i do find it hard to see a reason beyond grind? unless there is an outbreak in gold selling or an exploit im unaware of

I would have thought at the very least when a new DLC comes out the old DLC set pieces should no longer be bind on pick up? but who knows

Perhaps if the sets dropped in Maelstrom Arena were BOE (except Maelstrom Weapons imo) and the ones from dailies (Briarheart etc) are BOP. That way we are still getting the BOE/BOP concept, but it will be a lot more balanced than 23 new BOP sets to 9 BOE...

well im not specifically talking about the gear from wrothgar but boe in general... i dont like the idea of buying gear in general... i wouldnt want the vWGT or vICP gear to be boe.... earn it or gtfo :P
