I been thinking about forum topics and wondering when ZOS reads them. An idea came to my mind to help to solve this problem of many forum users have.

I will take "General Discussion" as an example, but this idea can apply anywhere on forum site.

If one looks at the General Discussion web page, one will find these headings: Subject, Author, Replies, Views, and Most Recent. Here is the idea that I have, let us add a new heading to the General Discussion web page called something to the name of "ZOS Views." Anyone with a big Z icon next to their user name (aka a ZOS employee) will rank up the heading number every time they look at the forum topic. They do not have to post in the topic, but it will let the forum users (aka players) know if they topic has been seen by ZOS or not and how much.

I wonder what @ZOS_GinaBruno , @ZOS_JasonLeavey , and @ZOS_RichLambert think of adding such an idea (a new heading called "ZOS views") to the forum software?
Also, I am wondering what my follow forum users think such an idea?

This wouldn't help ZOS in any way and would just contribute to user dissatisfaction.

Users would just get mad at:
    • The lack of ZOS views
      or...
    • The lack of response despite the high number of ZOS views

    No win situation for them.

Just stop expecting, wanting, or hoping for ZOS to read or respond to anything you post. You'll be happier.

This so much this.....really kind of important and players need to know.................Do you have the 8:30 or the 9:30 bathroom breaks and what day do you encourage a high in fibre breakfast?

I'd have to agree with @Gidorick here. While it seems like this would ease some of the feeling that we aren't listened to, it would enrage the community to see that it has been read but no comments or anything. I believe it would just worsen the situation. Could you imagine the screaming, " We know you've been here! Why don't you answer?!!!"

I think we do enough of that already lol!

I would feel a lot better if I know that ZOS hears us. I know that they do already in the back of my mind. However, seeing a new heading like "ZOS Views" will make me feel better. I at least will know they are talking about it internally. A comment is of course prefer, but a head count of views made by ZOS will help to ease that worry.

Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

I've reported some bugs and issues on both the /bug report and forum, but I've never seen the issues fixed in changelogs or acknowledged (e.g. the recent issues with sets not always applying their set bonuses). It's hard to know sometimes if the bug was seen, or whether or not it's been acknowledged.

That said, while I'd love to see that acknowledgement, I know how much time it would take from every dev and community mod's day just to play Sheogorath's Seal of Approval(tm). It's one of those things where there's no perfect balance. That said, perhaps a weekly "issue tracking thread" similar to the one Gina posted notifying the community of items ZOS is aware about and their status updates could work.

    Nailed it.

Perhaps a more telling metric would be something binary; a dev has viewed this thread or a dev hasn't.

Then again, this would probably just result in all threads being marked as "dev read". People would then start spewing conspiracy theories around the forum software auto-tagging things as dev read.

It's best to just let dev comments come naturally. We're all impatient about new features and changes, which is why you don't see extensive information about them until they're close to ready. We're also impatient about what we personally care about, which might not match up with what the population of the game cares about. Forcing a metric towards the attention of our threads isn't constructive. This forum is a place for us as players to talk to each other more than anything.

A system based on organised distrust is inefficient, long term not effective and uncomfortable
