With the new change to battle levelling, it's now imperative to upgrade your gear regularly otherwise you'll be left behind. I like this change personally - it adds more customisation, and how it should have been.
Having said that, war costs money, and so does crafting. Sadly I don't make much. Sure I get a few k each campaign run, and the pitiful money I make selling all the staves among other useless items I get from rewards, but it's not really covering my expenses. I'm pretty much just getting by and scraping the bottom of the barrel now!
To put it short, I need to expand beyond PvP and make some gold, fast.

I dropped an ancient orc motif while dungeon delving in Wrothgar. Noticed they sell for a bit in zone chat and thought great! Though if you read my posts you'll know I lost it immediately due to a rollback xD (thanks for the support on that one by the way guys <3).

Will dungeon diving be enough? I'm not a big fan of PvE, but I don't mind the odd dungeon, as long as there's action involved.

What are some of the ways you guys make gold?

Cheers!

Force myself to take a break from pvp that I enjoy to:

    1) Farm columbine and then sell tri pots = around 50k easy (maybe an hour or 2)
    2) grind motifs in public orsinium dungeons (shooting in the dark here for time frame. I have had 3 which I sold for around 90k each over 3 days)
    3) sell raw mats ( rubedo, rubedite and ancestor silk) not to forget tempers that sell well too.

There ya go. Notice pvp was not in the list of ways to make gold :(

Wow, seriously? That's not too bad at all. Any particular areas, or just run into any random house/business and look for those lockboxes?

Cool thanks for the list :)

Unfortunately I'm not an alchemist, so wouldn't be able to sell any pots, and I don't really want to run around collecting mats. Though grinding in dungeons for motifs sounds like it might be up my street, especially if they are selling that high.
    Thanks for the info!

Go into IC, kill things, get TV stnoes, buy vr15-16 mats, sell mats. You can even have some pvp on the way. Or if you're more into pvp, don't farm mobs, but farm the mobs farmers. Or buy motifs or vr6 gear (not vr14) with your AP, then sell them. Most people at vr14 would just wait till vr16 to upgrade gear.

I log onto IC occasionally, but when I do I don't see anybody at all in there and just end up soloing the content, which makes things pretty slow :-/

i did it randomly. i just radid manouver around city and taking white/green/blue items from desks/nightstands etc... after orsinium there seem to be tons more blue items and 1 is 250g....its really easy to get 30k per h..just takes a bit of patience..

btw i had the most luck in main town in second DC zone..forgot its name -.- i think its rivenspire if im not mistken..

If it's herbs you are after, try Hollow City, Coldharbour. Just don't do it during primetime. Excellent harvesting results if you can harvest at odd-hours (2-3am for instance). Decent harvesting results in the late morning/afternoon and poor results in prime time. Get as much speed boosting passives/abilities as you can and run circuits around the Hollow City. You'll find the PvP there to be just as intense as in Cyrodiil.

Another viable way is to carry large amounts of Tel-Var stones on you (1k+) and farm the Imperial City sewers. When you return from your run, convert the stones you earn into Ancestor Silk and sell them. If I'm not wrong, the current prices of Silk is at 530g per Silk, so you'll make a killing selling said silk, at least till everyone gears up. So you can think of it as every 50 stones you collect, you'll earn 530g :)

This one does not advocate for any class to be nerfed. There are far deeper underlying issues then a simple "Class Imbalance". The Champion System is the problem. Not classes.

making money becomes harder and harder with each update

where i first needed 1 motif, i now need to complete 4 or 5, my ultimate gear i wish to have has a low drop rate (lich set from cyro dolmens) that it will take alot of time, getting try glyphs, getting trophy-keys for IC, its just bit to much XD

    Do what I do
My current character is a DK named Tulius vi Nimok
So I said hey my character needs a wife to support me. So I made a female character named Aryana vi Nimok and she is strictly for crafting and selling off her wares to make Gold, Supper, Potions, armour ect. I make a decent fortune selling tri-pots and armour while also looking at a damn sexy character while doing it.

Make sure you're in a guild that doesnt mind you taking stuff you need to level crafting also nake sure you throw a few appreciation gifts in the bano occassionaly (Purple Tri-Food, XP pots)

Making a crafting character is every soldiers need.

I was kicked from a nice trader guild because I was 10 days offline. But that was because I had my account set to "appear offline" lol.

I was invited back so no problem. But I declined since I only PvP and never have anything good to sell. The last 2 million AP granted me NOTHING from loot boxes.

Now I make money from legerdemain. I run inside one town and loot/pickpocket everyone. I usually have a 20k bounty in the end because I get caught pickpocketing and kill people but in the end I can make around 20-40k per hour.

I generally make a million every month, just doing writs and selling stuff in guild stores.

If I need money fast, I can make a million very quickly, from high end crafted sets for peeps and legendary enchants, tri pots etc, I do have other money makers, but not gonna spill:P

Diversify is my best advice. Making a crafting character is always good if you can be bothered, join a good trade guild (one with a hired merchant) and always have useful items for sale in there (food/drink, potions, crafting mats etc) that will sell every day. That way you log in to find gold in your mail ready to go! Generally it takes a little bit to set up, but I have a system where I put things up for sale maybe once a week and get a steady income from that which leaves the rest of my game days free for the things I enjoy doing.

In Skyrim we could make a lot of money and everyone complained (including me). In ESO we make a very tiny bit and this frustrates everyone (including me too).

It should have middle-term, not too hard, but not easy. This way not only players will be "happier", but they will also move the market of heavy trading guilds, whose vendors cost a lot of money (guilds have to work they a*** out with raffles to pay them) in order to, maybe, have their housed and very expensive items, mostly coming from PvP, sold.

And as a good side effect will grant the opportunity of those who don't like PvP too much to get some items bought with AP (including me again)

Ok someone is going to want to kill me here.

The best way to make gold is by not buying anything, stuff like potions, soul gems, glyphs, and any other costly consumable you might use make them all yourself from scratch. Yeah it might take away from PVP time but a healthy storage is worth more than gold, and once things start stacking, your gold will too.

To make gold I recommend a mixture of farming ancient orc motifs, arcane willpower rings, robust agility rings and doing crafting daily's for glass motifs can make some tidy profit.
