Alliance War Skill Line - The bar doesn't move...at all

Compared to other grinds in ESO, the Alliance War skills (Assault and Support) can't be grinded.

At level 4 of Assault and Support...
- Grouped or not, doing Cyrodiil and capturing Mills, Mines, Keeps, Outposts for a 4 hour session, the bar doesn't move.
- Killing countless alliance enemies(pvp) grouped or solo, the bar doesn't move. This is even more evident when battling in IC Arena where you kill many pvpers over and over.
- Doing bounties and quests that reward AP in Cyrodiil, the bar doesn't move.

I don't do anything at VR16 anymore other than Cyrodiil or IC. What exactly am I doing wrong? I have a good kill ratio, I gain AP (and spend it on IC recall stones)...

What is the secret to gaining Assault and Support levels?

It will only move when you move UP in alliance rank, otherwise it stays still.

The bar moves.

Your AP gain is weak.

What a coincidence. I've been stuck at rank 4 assault and support for what feels like ever too. We just gotta keep at it I suppose.

I hit assault rank 4 last Thursday afternoon. Dying for vigor and then more of a grind...caltrops. now I'm 80% into rank 4 and every bit I inch closer.

I constantly complete scout, capture, kill x players missions. Defend keeps which last Sunday I was defending an outpost for 1 and 1/2 hours then the closest keep for another hour.

I rarely group but when I do its with like 5 or 6 friends. Knowledge is key, knowing where an enemy is going and what they are attacking saves hours of riding time.

All in all I've been busting my butt to hit rank 5 and after this weekend I'll hit it and push forward to rank 6.

I'm on xbox 1 DC player that plays in scourge mostly. V16 stamina templar. Legionary rank 2 currently.

Any hidden, super secret, repeatable AP reward quests that can be grinded? Or are they just daily?

Pretty sure it was meant to be a long term grind.

It's super lame, but put on a resto staff, join the largest zerg you can find and follow them and just heal constantly. Or purchase repair kits and repair walls non-stop. lame pvp scoring/xp is lame.

I take it you are on console and unable to check the numbers, but it does move, slowly. I am at rank 4 too. Solo killing enemy player usually gives me 800-900 points. And that's by far the best source I discovered. For rank 5 you need 238400.

The system is just incredibly slow and highly discourages playing on alts.

Well, it's easy to level up for people who are experienced PvPers..
It's just a matter of learning and then being efficient and effective.

The Alliance War skill line is not a equal grind compared to anything in PVE or any other skill line period. That is my issue, don't throw something at me that takes exponentially longer than other skill grinds in the game.

It's fine, I'll just be a scrub and spam healing staff skills as a NB in zerg groups to farm AP. Thats about all that seems to make it start to accumulate, heal aoe and you're a pvper I guess. It's a shame.

Even if you go to the IC arena district and play the 'shooting fish in the barrel' bs game where you just kill players that jump off their respawn tower, those AP points hit diminishing returns.

Yeah wish they made AP's account wide or allow us to have a percentage increase on alts if you have a main with lots of points.

It goes up with your alliance rank. My assault is at 8.5
