Farewell for now, Cyrodiil

Well, as of today I am going on hiatus from PvP. When I first started it was a lot of fun, and I missed so much sleep because I was enjoying myself so much. Now, I find myself logging on for shorter periods of time - we're talking 10-15 minutes, before I get bored, upset, angry, disappointed. or had the morale sucked out of me.
I'm tired of the EP zergs, I'm tired of the stam sorc meta polluting every crevice spamming wrecking blow and crit rush (thanks Fengrush), I'm tired of not being able to find small-scale PvP, or even solo someone without a herd jumping in half way through the fight. Stop promoting zergs.
I'm so done for now. This isn't an "I quit" thread. I'm just going to limit myself to PvE, so I'll still be around, just not in Cyro.

Hey, at least if I PvE I know I'm going to get continuous updates and improvements, and be let down a lot less. I know I'm going to get a DLC focused on what I like doing and not have the other side thrown into the mix (ie: IC and its PvE element). My performance will be better. Hell, they even threw in a new server just for Orsinium. IC could go to hell, but we gotta make sure those PvErs are taken care of!
You know what? Fine. Let Cyrodiil sink, but I'm not going down with it. I'll be playing the game the way Zenimax wants us to.

Peace.

    same here..

but what gets me most the is lag..i decided to not join guild raids anymore just so i dont add up to the lag on the server with the huge raids (zergs) but even when im on the other side of the map from where all the fighting is i still end up dieing to the things that lag bring along.

having to press cloak 10 times before it actually decides to activate is everything but fun and it doesnt just happen on the most crowded server.
its just a constant fight against lag instead of your opponent and after more than a year we still hear the same thing "we're working on it"

pvp is this game was fun untill you get somewhat better at it and see all the flaws and bugs that basicly happen with every damn encounter against another player.

Yeah, the lag is still pretty bad. I guess I got used to guessing where people were going to be after they teleported across my screen from lag, and focused my frustration on other things.
A lot of the other valid issues people have raised I haven't even said them say so much as "we're working on it". I just hope all the work Sypher and Co. do with the ESO podcasts isn't for naught. Zenimax could learn a lot from it.

Its so depressing. All I want is something new in PvP.

Besides a stupid mount / costume I can buy for 10 bucks.

As to the lag issue...Has there ever been an MMO that attempted to offer PvP on a massive scale that actually succeeded in eliminating lag?

As an experiment, let's take, say, a hundred different computers located in 50 different U.S. states plus several foreign countries, running different operating systems and utilizing dozens of different service providers, link them together across multiple different switches and lines of variable quality utilizing an "internet" that was never designed to support gaming in the first place, then fuss at the guy running the server because he can't eliminate lag.

It's really a modern miracle that it works at all.

Look on the bright side, you won't have to reconcile the fact that it is very hard to have a build and morph choices, (including the big sta vs magicka choice) that are both effective in PVP and PVE. The zergs will wait for you gentle Alucardo, the zergs will wait.

there was a time when it actually did work well but causing lag on the server is really simple nowadays..
just make a raid.. have everyone in the raid slot aoe (wich for some reason is over the top effective..) and have them all just spam it while following the crown.. gz you now caused the server to lag.

i basicly dont even see a reason to have aoe apart from cc in the game anyway.

I feel exactly the same way. I've had enough of being perma cc'd to death, bolt escaping backwards into what I am trying to flee and pounding at my ulti button while nothing happens watching the horde come at me spamming everything they can. if it's not that being run over by nightblades.

    Zergs you say?

My answer is called Rapid maneuvers + cloak spam + immovable potion. Good luck catching me.

But yes, that's *** to the point you where you get a whole raid (24) coming because I was capping a random resource with a guild mate and we murdered 10 of them before they just stack on the flag, spamming steelnados, spears and the like.

I remember some days ago when they already had DC scrolls... an ENTIRE raid rushed the skyshard, like, 40+. I still managed to separate 6 of them from the main group and killing them. But, damn, man, 40+ guys for a skyshard? What the hell?

All classes would be so screwed in front of that with the exception of NBs. Damn, what have you become Cyro...

I've tried different campaigns, but for the most part it was the same story. IC is pretty dead nowadays and not really worth my time. Though it could be now that I'm in PvE mode, because that's all there is to do there.

Joke's on you, PVE in this game is not really worth it. At least for the next few months. 2 dungeons and an upcoming arena. That's all that is being offered by ZoS to the (serious/hardcoreish) PVE people. The other dungeons and the trials are not worth to mention anymore, unfortunately.

And this comes from someone who was a hardcore PVEer, and swapped to PVP because it is just way more fun than just bursting through any mechanic, having no difficulties besides trying to do it as fast as possible.

I did the same, took a little break after playing pretty much non stop since beta. Despite the lag and frustration i get on a daily basis i feel refreshed overall coming back after a couple months break.

Same here. CC is the only cause of my deaths. Sometimes, I'll even die before Break Free's animation even finishes to allow me to cash a heal.

I know what you mean Alucardo.

What I've resorted to now, is basically getting 10 Fire Ballistas, 10 Oil Pots, Caltrops (on a magicka build) and staying inside of keeps/outhouses/towers as much as possible, while attempting to get the odd siege (nerfed) weapon kill for a little bit of points because one can not simply touch a zerg that takes 75% less damage, can they?

And agreed about those Stam Sorcs, they're a bunch of tryhards.

Ahhh you're one of THOSE guys. One of my last fights we only had like 6 people, but a majority of EP were on sieges. The ground, no matter where you roll dodged or ran to, was completely red. Siege may be pretty weak now, but some people took so many firepots and meatbags they were dead in seconds.
Just another reason I'd like to see an arena or instanced dungeon for proper fighting.

    I'm in BwB and Azura ( N/A server )

I know how you feel about EP zerges they can be overwhelming sometimes, but you know BwB needs you. So don't quit on us.

My opinion is different than most players on here, because ESO PvP is the only PvP I have ever played.

    - I very seldom lag
    - I enjoy fighting zergs

When it gets too overwhelming for me, or I am having a bad night ( pushing all the wrong buttons ) I will take a little break and go gather and come back.

Sadly I'm not the only BwB DC regular to take a break recently. We're pretty fed up of getting crushed by the same zergs every day.. but I won't be quitting, just need a break :)

Lag hasn't been much of an issue for me either. The odd spike here and there, but overall I don't think I'm experiencing what everybody else does. I do however hate fighting zergs!

I think my problem is I don't take a break. I try to push through it so the people we do have in DC don't feel like everyone has abandoned them. Morale is pretty low, and we've already lost a few good players that moved to EP (just what we needed :p)
