What is that Stentor-like Plant that is in Deshaan/Stonefalls?

It has been some time since I played Morrowind, but I don't recollect any plant-like features in that game that looked like a Stentor. A stentor is a large single-celled organism shaped like a horn. It attaches itself to a surface, and feeds using small tentacles that pull toward its large mouth (the wide end of the horn). I also recollect seeing these in Meridia's realm. I'm curious if this is Meridia's touch on the land of Morrowind? They're pretty cool looking, and I suspect it might be related to the watery themes of the Dreugh/Ruddy Man, Vivec's Antlers, etc. What is the deal with those things? I'm hopeful someone with a lore knowledge recognizes it.

    I assume you mean these things on the right of this picture...

    I really don't know. There were pitcher plants in Oblivion that look kind of like them.

    And then there's the Fungus Stalks
    SI-flora-Fungus_Stalk.jpg

    But both of those are tiny... I don't really know if they have an official name. Well, not one that we're privy to.

    @Grimn... you have any idea?

    Maybe this question is one for the Ask-Us-Anything thread.

    Could you perhaps be meaning the orange coral things that are in every alliance?

    If I had a Septim for every time my name was misspelled, I'd have enough Septims to sit back and ask myself: "What in Oblivion is a Septim?"

    The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind takes place on the island of Vvardenfell, which we do not have access (Yet). So it's only natural for you to see different plant-life on mainland Morrowind. What we find on The Colored Rooms and Vivec's Antlers are most definitely coral. I don't know about the ones found on Meridia's Plane, but the ones at Vivec's Antlers are "Bizarre land-coral" which are said to be self-aware and thoughtful.

    Maybe we can be more helpful if you provide us with a picture of said plant.

    Wow, you guys did come out of the woodwork, I'm glad. So a lot of those horn shapes do have a stentor-like quality. In the picture, the flora(?)/fauna(?) that I'm referring to is the reddish object at the bottom middle of this picture. Its the planty-thing with tentacles. In real life Stentor those tentacles would be the cilia (its a protist and one of the few single celled organisms that can be seen with the naked eye, much like amoebas in that regard).

    The objects in those other pictures look more like mushrooms. If I was at my house I would load up a pic I know I took of my character talking to Meridia in her colorful realm. There are plenty of corals and those stentor-things.

    I would love if Laurence Schick or one of those ask-anythings could produce the answer. I'd ask myself on the twitch but the most ESO interaction I can get is during the week is the forums while I'm working and on the phone. My playtime is limited to weekends until I get myself a laptop that can run the game. Basically, real life business concerns have me away from my house a lot. If anyone wants to ask or know about this on the twitch though I'd love hearing the answer, even if its just an art inspiration thing. I just think its really cool they have a stentor-inspired plant-animal thing growing in Dunmer areas, and even moreso that those things live in Meridia's realm. It makes me wonder if Meridia had a hand in Chimer/proto-Dunmer development as well.

    Put it on the Ask Us Anything thread if no one knows here. This kind of question is right up that alley :)
