Worth restarting a templar because of racial choice?

Currently got a Vet 15 Imperial Templar, is it worth creating a new one with Breton or is having Imperial better overall if I ever feel the need to switch between Stamina and Magicka builds?

Racial passives have changed in the past and will change again.

So if you are asking for a 'final answer' there isn't one.

However if you are playing in IC, the leveling is insane so it wouldn't take you long to work up another character.

I would not recommend deleting the old one, though.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Imperials are a good choice for jumping between Stamina and Magicka. Clearly they are slanted more toward Stamina, but the Health increase is still valuable to a Magicka builds, and extra Stamina even is not terrible particularly in PVP.

I'm mainly gonna PvP on my Templar, and just wanna make sure that the difference won't be that big. Gonna run a Magicka build thought.

My Templar is an Imperial and I know quite a few others as well. It is a good race for and I would say to stick with it.

Imperial seems to be a popular choice for Templar, looking at my friends who play them.

Don't ask me, though. My templar is a bosmer. :-P

I play a wood elf Templar and I'm fine with my hybrid stam/magic build. I wouldn't go through the nightmare of levelling up again as a dark elf just for the better racials for my build.

Besides they're changing racials soonish, so wait and see.

I absolutely hate playing magicka on my Imperial templar. The magicka pool is smaller, the sustain isn't where I want it to be. Nothing I can do about it.

But if you never played a Breton/Altmer one, you probably wont notice

Thing is, you dont need health or stamina on magicka builds(food is enough) in PvE, while you want around 40k magicka. Cant do that as Imperial.

My Imperial is awesome for tanking. Great as stamina build. But the Breton wins by miles if playing magicka or heal.

It's not as bad in PvP, since you need stamina + health a lot more on any templar build. But overall, if you're 100% sure you will play magicka mostly, go Breton/Altmer.

Leveling up a magic imperial templar and its a blast.
if youre not a numbercruncher and dont care you deal 11999 dps instead of 12001 dps because of race, why switch?

... is this a racist topic?

I like my Imperial Magicka Templar enough that even if I had the option to race change I probably wouldn't. The health and stam helps round out a PvP build nicely.

Than Imperial is a decent choice. You need to invest in extra stamina anyway, to dodge, block and break cc every 6-7 second if using heavy or light armor build as templar :cold_sweat:

Extra health isn't bad in PvP either.

It's mainly in PvE where you use "pure builds" that Imperial passives aren't all that for magicka heal/dps. It doesn't matter that awfully much either tbh, just gets easier a bit with a race like Altmer or Breton, since you reach 40k magicka without even trying.

For stamina templar I think I'd choose Redguard over a breton because it seems like you can get that pool maxed pretty easily. That being said, are the Redguard Racials > Imperial ? I think you could debate the merits of either for pages. I went redguard for my Stamina Templar because I was starting from scratch. There is zero chance I would delete a VR16 Imperial Templar just to go RedGuard or Breton. The Grind man, the grind.

I love my Imperial Templar. If I were you no because of the diversity you can play with a imperial you can go both stamplar or magicka and you get the 10% extra heal/stamina and lets be magicka build can always use a little more stamina ;).

I think people simply make too much of the race choices when it comes to builds because too many players just want to create characters based on some cookie cutter template some website (I won't name names.....) tells them is the "best."

Truth is, what makes your build the "best" is your ability to capitalize on all your assets in combination with your resource management, which at the end of the day around here - given the absence of skill cool downs - is the number one thing that will make or break your build. All the health in the world won't matter if you don't know when or how to block, and if you spam BoL forever as if that is the only and best way to heal (it ISN'T....) then 40k magicka means squat.

That said, Imperials make a good starting place for nearly any type of build, so you can easily make good just about anything with it.
