i would like to reroll a dragonknight since i love how badass they are, my question is are they worth it? i currently have a v16 nb, if i was to make a dk i probably would build it with more of a dps role in mind, 2h & bow hundings rage molag kena and so on, can you still play like that or will a nb be always better?

Would watch Yegorian 1vX with bow as stam DK before it was cool. Definitely worth it.

@imenace - It is a very viable build as you would have seen in Xeloki video linked...

This is a sick build. Tried it with a few modifications this week. One/2 shotting people then dodge roll with major evasion + expedition sprint and then Pop invi pot and cause sheer terror to big zergs. They can't kill what they can't find. Bear in mind u have to change ur play style of a classic tank and spank dk to that of a NB without cloak. But once u get good it's realllllly sick.

Yeah I had the same problem early on when I get caught out of place. The key to that build is positioning/movement. Also I incorporated shuffle and am using invisibility pots to play my dk like a nightblade lol.

Man I am so tempted to try this with a non-vet Imperial DK... but I'm having too much fun tanking 10 people at once with my 2h/S&B Sorcerer.

This is actually my main build =). Works pretty Well

    I run

    7 Pieces of Medium armor
    2 Handed on main bar
    Bow on secondary bar

    Main bar I have

    Stam Morph for Flame Breath
    Critical Charge
    Dizzying Blow
    Executioner
    Rally
Ultimate : Ferocious Leap ( Or whichever leap it is that gives you the damage shield )

    Secondary Bar

    Snipe
    Shuffle
    Poison Injection
    Green Dragon Blood
    Igneous Shield
Ultimate - Either Corrosive Armor, or the Soul Magic Ultimate which I found out is pretty damned Boss recently.

Reasoning for Medium armor is that in PVP your physical and spell resistance is capped at around 10 k -anyway- and you can easily hit that cap with medium armor, making heavy armor pointless. Then there is the bonus damage to melee weapons and bonus crit chance and you also get bonuses to dodge, your stealth becomes better and cheaper, and you get a bonus to sprint speed. So if things get hot. Shuffle, run *** away and usually no one will be able to catch you.

I tried it out on BWB, and can't say I'd recommend it. I have above average CPs for non vet campaigns so that definitely helped, but I also tried it without CPs.. you're basically a Nightblade with a bow and no cloak. The damage and survivability wasn't fantastic at all.

Having said that I used a similar setup on a Nightblade. Now this is a lot of fun. BWB is full of Edward-wannabe vampires, so evil hunter and silver leash is boss. There's nothing more satisfying than cloaking behind enemy lines, detecting a low health vamp and pulling off a few quick shots as he explodes into blue fire and turns to ash. Not joking, I actually exclaimed "OH @!*$" last night several times.
The animation cancelling you can get with Incapacitating strike is purely insane, so I roll with that. It's a super cheap and useful ultimate that helps with your burst damage before you cloak and repeat.
The DK build would be magnificent for end game when you've got all the great gear and 350+ CPs, but for non vet you really can't go past 2h + Bow NB. And honestly, Piercing Mark is just so worth it.

Let me know if you make the DK work in non-vet though. It's still my favourite class!

    What?

I recently tested it out. I had 15 k physical and spell resistance with heavy armor on and all passives from the tree slotted, and then I entered cyro. My physical resistance got knocked down to 10.1 K, the exact same as what it was at when I had medium armor on.

Hm, that doesn't make any sense then, because I entered cyro at v1 with 15 k phyres and it dropped it to 10 k. Which happens to be the exact same physres I have with medium.

Maybe, I will check again when I am v16 with better gear and check the difference, until then, I will stick to medium armor for the damage bonus and the myriad of other bonuses you get for stamina based stuff.
