Thoughts... why ?

Im currently using medium for increase in crit but am wondering is the advantage from heavy armour better ?

It depends on how you want to play the character, but on my stamina I use 5 medium + 2 heavy.
The undaunted passive grants you stats for using different armor types.

I use 5 heavy 2 medium and smash my enemies

I use 6 heavy and 1 medium (belt), with sword and shield.

I have no problem solo'ing all content with this, Deep Slash is an amazing debuff, Ransack + light attack does a surprising amount of DPS and is very stamina efficient, I use Stone Fist for a hard CC, Absorb Magic for a strong and cheap heal, along with Resolving Vigor for extra healing. My second bar is 2H but that is a buff bar, I don't use it to fight except executioner.
