Tonight I was on for over an hour with back and forth action (taking and defending keeps) and I only received one mail with 105g and an item. Prior to the IC patch I would have gotten at least 5 mail bags with 5 items and around 175g.

Hey anything that helps you doge poop is a good thing!! Cyrodil is full of poop slingers and we need all the help we can get!!
This is exactly the problem in Cyrodiil right now. AP is mostly worthless (you used to be able to make money with it) and the Rewards for the Worthy bags are just... disappointing. Sure, some sets drop from there, but it's completely random (as are the traits). Most of the hardcore PVP guys I know can't afford to PVP since they're finding it hard to buy siege, wall repair kits and more. It's not profitable anymore for them. Now I like pvp and will continue to pvp for the fun of it but staying in Cyrodil is expensive so having the extra gold and items was a very good thing.

No one would bother farming for those yawn worthy sets if there were V16 cyrodiils light, ravager, or morag tong jewelry in the game.
This is what really frustrates me about ZOS. They feel pressured to one up themselves every time. If you have an awesome gear set, like ravager or hawks eye. Keep it in the game!!!! You can't always make new gear. People like the old gear. So much so that you intentionally suppress it to promote new gear.
Just make all gear available and let the market decide, then promote the winners.
WTB V16 Fjords Legacy rings.

What ZoS wants
Zergs - Two Hundred player on one screen remember that, that's 66 players per Alliance. Do you think they wanted small scale fights no 200 players in one place was the goal.
The "Right" gear for your Role - Play your way unless you artificially cripple you set by not having a max level then kill it by add two more levels with a set that's far better in every way why go your own way just do with all the other Stamina, Magic and Tank builds do new gear guarantees that
Grinding - it's clear at this point do need to remind you all of why.
This was there "vision" from day one the other set were to level not to keep.

So our reward for getting to endgame is the total destruction of build diversity that existed for a year in cyrodill in 1.5 and the reduction of everything to basically 3 cookie cutter builds?

Myself, I used to easily go upwards of 20K gold a night on hardcore PVP doing tons of repairs, upkeep and more. Now I can't afford to. I keep coming across keeps that have the inner wall down because, as best I can tell, nobody could afford to repair both inner and outer. Heh.
That, or most PVPers I know I stuck grinding because unless they've got full Robust Agility or Arcane Willpower they're really at a disadvantage. IC did a lot of things right, but it also completely destroyed PVP's reward system and economy. That, and removed gear diversity to the point everybody has to have the same ring set to really be competitive (since no OTHER rings seem to be dropping at VR16). Those VR16 enchants are too good NOT to use.
TheShadowScout wrote: »Yeah, AP and what can be bought for it is a bit underwhelming right now... since everyone wanting to gear up for PvP is bypassing them and aiming for the tel var stone cought V15/V16 outfits... and considering how much the AP bought V14 pieces cost, well... they clearly are not really worth the effort anymore I fear... might be they could use some rebalancing to make them either competetive to TV outfits (unlikely) or at least cheap enough that PvP newbies can earn them quickly...
Personally, I'd make all the cyrodil sold 30K AP gear sets V14, drop the V1 - V12 purple pieces in "rewards for the worthy" at level (those rewards are coming rarely enough IMO to be worth more then mostly green trash that goes for 150 gold at every guild vendor...), and have the 100K AP "elite" gear at V15... better then the old stuff, still not quite as good as the highend TV stone gear...
But hey, that's just a thought of mine...
Also... it kinda vexes me that the "pact -gear piece-"... "dominion -gear piece-"... and "covenant -gear piece-" all look the same while having alliance-specific names, but the "shieldbreaker -gear piece-" and such look different per alliance, but -do not- have that looks indicated in their name!
...I'd much rather see the latter have their "colors" in the name, so people who buy them at guild stores or share them per bank know which pieces ought to be worn by what alliance alts...
...and have the former share a generic name since they all are the "fighters guild" akaviri style no matter where you buy them, faction-wise... maybe something like ""Soldiers -heavy gear piece-", "Scouts -medium gear piece-", "Warmages -light gear piece-"
But I guess that's a different topic...
