It used to be fun. Now I don't know. I finally decided to log in today after a two week absence and oh look, huge freaking update (and I had IC installed at launch so it wasn't that).

So I loaded up GW2 and hey my character actually levels and earns things and does things and has a variety of adventuring environments.

So I'm not sure what makes me play nor am I currently sure how much longer that thin line to the game will be there.

    At this point? Habit.

I'm back to the log in enough to keep guilds 'active' and not cap enlightenment.

The inspiration is dying. The will is ceasing to be there.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Why do I continue to play this bug infested, no recent PVE content game?

In the hope that Orsinium makes it all worthwhile. Otherwise I would have deleted everything and said my goodbyes.

it's beautiful to look at, has some really great idea (some really bad one)

PVP can be really good fun.

What you should be asking is why we leave, this may help ZOS improve things...

I really enjoy the game. And although I have thought on many an occasion to leave, I never did. Play non -magical characters, literally just weapon skills and war horn etc (may stretch as far as standard). Will keep on playing this way in the hope one day they add weapon ultimates so I can finally play as a warrior! No magical, flamboyant and fancy crap.

Been subscribed since launch and there are many reasons why I've stayed.

Beautiful immersive world with rich lore.
Well written quest lines far better than go kill 10 rats.
    Amazing amount of PvE content.
    Solid gear progression.
Group content designed for 4 people not 5 or 6.
Crafting system which rewards time invested.
    Active combat.
    Three faction RvR.
16 Diverse Dungeons and then 16 more at Veteran versions with many different Mechanics. Make that 18 Now.
    Challenging group content.
    Race, class, skill diversity.

I can play as I want, more so than most other games. I can be a sorcerer in heavy armor using Bow if I want. I'm tired of games telling me that if I want to be a stealthy Jedi, I have to use a double bladed saber and these are the only skills I can have for example. People take this freedom for granted. I fully expect this freedom will be why the game may never truly be balanced, but I'm fine with that.

I've played almost everything out there. This game has more to offer than any other for me. It's not perfect, but it's home. Maybe one day we will even have housing.. Then it will be home.

I've never left. What's kept me playing is that it's an Elder Scrolls game and I have a 4 toons that I work on. I've never really had a Guild, so IDK what that's like ;)

I left for a few months last year as I didn't have any RL friends playing, and I wasn't in any active/social guilds. Now that I have found one, I am happy and will keep playing for some time.

It's also easy to do, since I've only just hit VR12 on my main and finished Cadwell's Gold, so there is still some levelling to do!

    What keeps me playing:
    • Elder Scrolls MMO
    • Art, music, and sound effects
    • Still not VR 16 after a year of playing, stuff left to do

    What keeps me paying:
    • Elder Scrolls

Pretty much this. I've been playing since PC launch with multiple characters across two accounts, none of them yet at 50. Plenty to do and enjoy, plenty of time to do it.

RvR-style PvP.. which is limited to only a few MMO's.. those being DAoC, the original, GW2 weak and imho failed attempt (take 2 steps and you're at the next keep/resource) and ESO with a decent and fun implementation.

I like MMO and I like that it's not cartoonish and doesn't have me riding silly birds around. When other options open up on console I may jump ship or I may stay depending on the state of the game by then.

Dunmer Vampire Nightblade Healer of the Daggerfall Covenant.

C'mon, what's not to love about that?

That, and crafting. LOVE the crafting. Being able to make awesome gear that is truly useful all the way through leveling is just the cat's meow.

Lysara Shadowcroft - Dunmer Bloodmage: This will only hurt a lot.

I believe greatly if the game made changes to actually play and feel more like an MMO they would see more players come back. Being forced to quest (one example) instead of leveling how you want to play is one of the huge frustrations I hear from those who have played and left. Many would love to pvp in Cyrodiil and now IC but you can't effectively level while pvping.

Razum Dar - He's our Nathan Fillion.

Auridon - I just love the style of this area and it's why I'll always start AD with any character (plus, the story is the best of the three to me).

Combat - NB was challenging for me, and it's been a long, long time a game gave me one like this. I earned every scar, every reward, and the three titles with this one. As a sorc now, I call this a well-deserved walk in the park with the serious OP in the palm of my hands (in a literal character sense, thanks to Overload).

-Massive amount of content - Bite it, Bungie. Bite it hard. No DLC? No problem! No content removed. *hugs ZoS

-Crown store - I know some hate it, but I enjoy seeing what virtual items I can get to make my character more personal. $20 for a cat mount may seem high, but it's how I support the game and that's how I view the price tag, since I don't sub.

-Customization - While it does have strings attached (unlocking dyes, finding motifs) it's still pretty damn awesome how much we can make our character ours.

-30+ emotes Maybe ZoS can make one where our characters are throwing money toward our screen.

-Knowing there's a team dedicated to trying to make the ES franchise accessible to many. I know people get upset when things change, and even I've vented my frustration, but I try to stay optimistic the changes are going to be good in the long term. Time will tell.

-Quite a few good players I've met in the game and the forum. Offering help, items, and assists. Thanks! :)

You don't HAVE to do the quest. Only ones you need to get threw is the main quest and just make it to cadwells gold. The. You can go freely, anywhere you want. You could grind mods for awhile (which is the fastest way some say) . If that gets boring go quest or pvp. Pvp will still get you decent xp. Especially since the dlc the sewers level me up so fast. Get tired of all that? Well hell, forget the co go craft or buy/sell stuff from players. So much to do.This game has plenty of freedom. Take it.
