I thought it was confirmed we were getting text chat with the IC update, have I been miss informed or what....

    It can go either way, as far I know Destiny does not have chat either. We can hope its some market gimmick and the plan is to add it and lure tons of people back to the game.

    Destiny isn't an MMORPG though, mate.

    Comparing apples (ESO) to horse dung (Destiny) with that little statement. (Oranges should not be compared to Destiny...oranges rock! lol)

    The way things have been looking as of recently, I strongly disagree console will receive a text chat. There has been poll after poll, and thread after thread. And regardless of what the customers have been begging for, Zenimax ignores them. Each and every time. I'm beginning to notice that if it isn't to "nerf" something, or a particular series of skills complained about? Then ZOS tends to ignore it. Unfortunately, the customers can't have it their way. ESO isn't Burger King.

    Because the console people make it so it is illegal to convert 3rd party content period and even if they do approve they make it so expensive to the companies due to fees ect that they can never make money :'(

    I often wonder if not including text chat was because consoles had already been delayed a year and adding chat may have been an additional complication that would have taken even longer to resolve, so they just dropped it completely so as to rush the console version out so they could start making money before Bethesda completely shut down the ESO money-pit that it was increasingly becoming because of lack of console income.

    Text chat is one of those things that, if they were making "sure you’re always telling people what you’re doing", we would know what they were doing.

    They either need to say, clearly, "we are not doing text chat, what can we do to make voice chat work better?" or "we plan to implement text chat in a future update (Soon™) what ideas do you have?"

    That would be a bad idea for business. Look what they said to the IC zerg situation. If they said they would deal with it soon, new players would hesitate to buy IC; if they said they would leave it that way, old players might cancel subscription. So they said it would take a long time to fix that, problem solve, very clever.

    Its because ZOS isn't as intelligent as the other developers. And they're not as advanced as the dudes that did FFXI on PS2 back in 2002. They just cant get it to work.

    Let's see if that gets us a /lurk.

    To bad I just come to the forums to hang out. I don't even play the game anymore, I went back to FFXIV, but those forums are blah. We actually get responses and feedback from devs and stuff. And never any drama. Boring. I come here for that, lol.
    .... I have to admit, the devs do listen to reason, if not to the forums. Thank you for "nameplates", a welcome addition to immersion, as well as the text chat box for PS4, which only comes on the screen when I need it too, and helps this gameplay SO MUCH MORE then without it. THANK YOU for the additions. Very much appreciated.

    I think its a lost cause. Look at how long they worked on IC for and its got so many bugs. They plan to push content quarterly ? The bugs from IC wont be fixed before Orsiniums bugs arrive. B2p 4tl.

    I'd love it if they delayed Orsinium fixed the bugs and added quality of life stuff mainly a new hud with optional text. No money in that stuff though.
