In-game voice chat for PC, group/friends

I've read/heard the horror stories from the game-box bunch about how bad area voice chat is. But it would be nice to be able to group/friend Vchat w/o having to go thru all the diff setups w/ Vent and other voice addons, it can take some time to get everyone on channel. Are they working on this?

It's bad.

Terrible.

But you get used to it.

Took me about 2-3 weeks to get used to the audio quality and screamers/singers/rappers/beatboxers.

@Altaire - I agree that it would be a nice addition for many and I'll reiterate what you have suggested in that, if the integrated Voice Chat should ever make its way over to PC that it absolutely must stand by these simple rules:

1. There must be no Area Voice Chat available.
2. Group Voice Chat should be the only available Voice Chat by default.
3. The ability to make your own Voice Chat channel for the times you don't want to be in a group but still wish to chat via voice.
4. There should be no Guild Voice Chat available, since points 2 and 3 can cover almost all situations.

Standing by what we've heard as the reason that Text Chat was excluded and that Voice Chat was implemented so deeply on consoles is that the console players they have targeted are to be sitting on the couch out of reach of a keyboard(I know, it's ridiculous).

With this in mind, PC players are well within reach of a keyboard, therefore the 4 points I have listed above are all PC players require and nothing more.
