I wish the PVP (or at least one campaign) were exactly this. It should strip out gear enhancements, etc. and just be a fight using the core skills of each build. That way we could all fight regardless of level and just compete on skill.

I don't disrespect current PVPers for making the most of CPs, high end gear, etc -- if they earned it they deserve it. But, for a truly skill-based PVP competition all of this seems to distract from the fun and true spirit of PVP.

I agreed with you until this. Wrecking Blow is a troll skill, not just because it's so easy for these clowns to stack Weapon Damage until you get hit for 10K or even 12K, but because of the PERMA CC effect that often happens when someone is spamming it on you. Most of the time when I get gap-closed and WB-spammed, I can't even get up off the ground, no matter how many times I click "break free".

No, it's nothing like that, which you would know if you were a Sorc. When someone breaks free of a Crystal Frag stun, they STAY immune to CC for several seconds.

I agree. @ZOS need to fix the animation but frankly speaking, fixes in that department is rather obsolete. @ZOS has pretty much abandoned that as no major/apparent fixes have been made. Their claims of "weapon attacks' animation has been improved to further blend the whole movement" or something like that in past patch notes are bogus and there are no updates on them as of late.
You can prove that by the rigidness in basic weapon attacks (light and heavy attacks) now so the main problem is actually animation cancelling. Which @ZOS aren't capable of fixing (I really hope for otherwise though).
Also, I'm of the opinion that @ZOS implemented the new Battle Spirit system as a temporary 'fix' while they revise on skills, revision of the animation cancelling issue and other bugs that are prevalent (eg. falling through the ground, among other things) as of now. It sure is a lazy implementation but I hope that there are actual works behind the scene.

It's doable in a week. If you haven't been able to spend a week on the game since it launched, then clearly your schedule doesn't allow for mmos. If you don't have the time to play an mmo, please don't expect the mmo to cater to you, you're not the target audience.

@Gorilla That is exactly what Duel Arenas in Runescape are like. You could challenge anyone and I mean ANYONE with specific and customisable parameters like no gears or enchantments as what you've stated. Only difference is that RS is luck-based and ESO is skill-based to have an edge against your opponent. I've wrote quite a few of times that @ZOS can really learn from Jagex on how they implement certain features into the game without disrupting the balance in combat and gears.

Try looking at my sig, stop with the DK hate they have been nerfed to the ground compared to what they were.
My sorc can out do my DK any day, but I choose not to play easy mode.

The entire game should be fixed... if you die to snipe and wrecking blow then you are terrible but that is what people are going to whine about and it will get nerfed next.

I don't die to Wrecking Blow or Snipe in IC because of the update. The game doesn't need fixing. Your build and play style may need fixing if you think the game needs fixing.

I am not going to farm trash mobs in the sewers for a chance, to roll a significantly skewed amount of badly structured gear, so that I can battle a VR4 battle leveled to stats that aren't realistic and maybe beat him in 20 minutes before his zerglings show up. If you are going to battle level people who haven't put in the time and effort to level up and get heated why do you even have higher levels? You give people a crutch so that they can compete and then the competition leaves because there is no point anymore.

PVP is screwing with the PVE part of the game. Why on earth there isn't a different set of circumstances for PVP and PVE is beyond me.

How many tweaks and tinkers have we had to classes and abilities because of PVP? Too many.
