He is the most important Aedra besides Eight Divines.

You can see the lore here.

Sorry for my poor English. I'm not native speaker.
I hope that I don't make you misunderstand.

Abram Lorkhan was a master duelist. He fought bravely and skillfully but one day, he started losing duel after duel. His opponents used the same skills as he but their armor seemed stronger, their weapons hit harder. Lorkhan thought he was cursed, so he sought out an old wizard named Zos the Marketer.

"You gear is too old!" Zos the Marketer told him. "Your weapons, and especially your jewelry are not as powerful as the foe's you fight against."

"But I like my Ravager rings, my Dreugh King amulet and my Masters Greatsword." Lorkhan protested. "Can you tell me how to find more powerful versions of these items?"

The crafty old wizard cackled wildly. "Ravager what? Master's who? I have never heard of these strange items! But I do know of a place you can go to get brand new items. Items of great power"

    "Tell me more" Lorkhan implored.

"Well first you pay me 2500 crowns, then you crawl into a sewer, there you will find the items you seek."

Bewildered, Lorkhan paid the wizard and descended into the sewers.

He has never been seen since.

But sometimes....., if you are brave enough to venture into the sewers yourself, you can hear faint crying in the distance.
Moans that sound like "Just one more bloody claw, just 3 more teeth, then I'll leave this awful place for good."
I think we passed his pile of bones an hour ago in the AD sewer area... :disappointed:
I nicked his great-sword to deconstruct.

there's also the concept of shezarrines and oversouls, and CHIM, and "without the Hero, there is no Event". all intimately connected with Lorkhan

If these forums are anything to go by, it's because ZoS nerf'd all his skills. He's particularly salty about getting his perma block nerf'd

Perma-block and perma-dodge weren't really problems in early 1.6. It wasn't until people started grinding the champion system that you started to see that kind of playstyle. So instead of nerfing champion points that let you reduce your block and dodge cost down to insane levels without even speccing for it (i.e. using a shield or medium armor), they nerfed the very mechanics behind block and dodge. They ignored the disease and nerfed a symptom. That is worth a few tears.

Lorkhan is a demon, an abomination. But the great god Auri-El destroyed him.

Lorkham is the Son of Sithis. Well he is actually Sithis' soul. He was sent to infiltrate the Aedra and bring about chaos, as that is the will of Sithis. Before Sithis there was nothing, and from the nothing he grew and created realms of ever changing ideas and substance, but the aedra were born of these ideas and they were jealous and afraid of being unmade so they Enslaved Sithis' realm and created Ideas of thier own. Solid ideas that never change. These Ideas became the reality we know today and the Aedra poured their lifesblood and power into them. I'm not sure the exactly story but Lorkham end up sacrificing himself to create Nirn, the world we see in TES. Some even say the moons are actually his body. Lorkhan Created men and Nirn. He also tricked the Mer into giving up their immortality and is widely hated for it.
