I've noticed that for some armors, one of the color slots for particular pieces will do absolutely nothing, and this is somewhat disappointing.
Namely, I personally was disappointed when I found out that my medium Imperial armor is stuck with an ugly-ass pinkish color for the "red" diamonds and feathers. When I went to change the color of these oddly-colored ornaments, I found that:
1. the color of these very prominent features (the red diamonds on the belt and helm, and the red feathers on the helm) cannot be altered.
2. the secondary color slots on the pieces in question (the belt and the helm) are non-functional, as if the ability to change the colors for these pink things was intended but never implemented.
This particular combination of (admittedly minor) inconveniences feels like a kick in the gut to me, someone who paid a bit of real money for this feature. I got this cheap, though, since it came with the Imperial race pack. For those that have dropped ~$50 for the motif itself, it must feel like a few swift kicks in the groin to come across the same disappointment.
@ZOS_GinaBruno , or anyone at ZOS willing to respond, would you be so kind as to shed a little light on this subject? Is there a team or individual that might be able to invest a bit of time into filling in some of the gaps in aesthetic customization?
