In response to the ongoing issue, the ESO Store and Account System have been taken offline for maintenance.

The "Crown Store" is currently a horrible business practice and I refuse to support it as is.

    About ignoring the store,

If you subscribe to ESO+ and pay the original monthly fee it was intended for the game, you'll have tons of spare crowns in no time, too

One thing that I've noticed about ESO business model is that for all the people that complained about it going B2P, few realized that by staying subbed as they always wanted, they'd get all DLC for free so it would be like being subbed as it was before B2P.

The business model is not the problem. The problem is how difficult they're intentionally making things in-game (like all the farming/grinding for exotic models) to increase their store sells. This is where people should be focusing their complaints, IMHO.

You said you couldn't respect the younger generation, that includes me. I take that as disrespect.

And you said you wished him to be in a retirement home. (I reported you for that by the way).

If you don't understand how inappropriate that comment is, regardless of the circumstances, then you seriously lack basic education.

So, the real problem here is that you're not willing to buy it.

Value is not a concrete thing. It's a subjective construct. And we can see it working here.

Your idea of the value of said item doesn't match the value the market has set for the item. That means you will not buy it.

Your ONLY recourse here is to vote with your wallet. If you and enough others choose not to pay the set value, then the value will lower. If enough customers pay the set price the value will not change.

ZOS is in this to make money, and if people are not paying the values listed, they will change. If they are paying that price in large enough numbers, then the value is deemed fair and will not change.

Value is nothing more than what people are willing to pay. Sorry if you are not, but it would seem that enough people are.

Come to terms with the fact that you have your opinion and others have different opinions, its the way of the world. If you have an opinion by all means voice that opinion, but don't do it aggressively and don't fling accusations when you do so. Your opening posts reads like an aggressive rant and you are accusing ZOS of bad business practice. You also sound as if your opinion is the only opinion and everybody should agree to it. People are going to rise to that and put you down, you're setting yourself up for it.

If you had come on here calmly explaining your position with respect to all parties without flinging accusations around and actually shown that you were interested in other opinions you would have had much more respectful responses. Hell, more people may even have agreed with you.

I for one agree that some of the items cost more than I am willing to spend, but I also understand that the market dictates the price, if they sell it too high the market won't sustain the product and they won't make money, if they price it too low they won't make enough money to keep running the game, and likewise if they price too high or low they price themselves out of the competition too, the price they have chosen is a balance between those three and we have to respect that, and that is what I am trying to get across to you.

Unlike you assume, price calculation have nothing to do with feelings. It's not important how you feel about it.

It's about doing your research and calculations.
They hire hotshot very expensive Harvardlike managers to do that kind of work.

With a high accuracy, before an item is dropped in the store, they already know what's the best price in the interest for ZOS.

Many people buy this unique costumes because they want to stand out from the crowd. They want a more unique online identity, they can afford it and are willing to pay the asked prices.

Too bad when $8 is an insurmountable obstacle for you.

But you could find a job, no?

Any sort of IT or Creative type industry is going to experience constant restructuring.
IT is always looking for more efficient ways to do things, which will, from time to time, include lay-offs if additional personnel are no longer required.

Creative stuff, well, that's even more volatile. I'd guess the vast majority of the creative stuff for this game has already been done. Now we're working within the framework that was initially established, which requires less people to maintain.

Now if they had laid off 30% of their staff, that'd indicate issues.

Also, I'd guess that switching from a subscription model to a B2P one and the inability to absolutely project month-to-month revenue would necessitate some cost-cutting measures.

None of these are necessarily a sign of trouble.

I think their prices for most things in the crown shop ARE ridiculous. I don't buy those things. Frankly I wish they'd raise the prices on certain things like the Super Sparkle Blue My Pretty Pony mount....so I would have to see less of them. Of far more concern to me is the sheer lack of anything I'd WANT to buy...at any price.

And that's fine. You value dinner more, and that's ok.
Unfortunately, a lot of other folks have no issue with paying that price for it.

There's nothing wrong with ZOS charging a price people are willing to pay. If enough people can and will pay for it to make their ends meet, then that's fine. It's not amoral, it's not horrible business, it's them trying to profit and continue on with the game.

Honestly, what cheapskates. You have to pay to play the the game, yet the overcharge for their extras as if it's free to play. Have they lost their damn minds? First you overcharge for the crowns okay, that's one strike. Second, you can only buy them in bundles. Why is that a thing? Same goes for the costume bundles, why can't I just buy the individual items I want? There are a few good ones I like, but I'm not going buy a costume pack with two ugly outfits and one good one. Then 750 crowns costs $8.00, they don't even give you the full 800 crowns. And what can I do with that? Oh I can buy a virtual cat, I'm paying $8 for a virtual ass cat. Then the largest crown package costs half the price of the game, what sense does that make? Where the hell do they get these figures for value? All this crap should be between 1.99-4.99 like any normal cosmetic DLC. This is utterly and absolutely ridiculous. Get rid of the bundles and stop overcharging like this was free to play, it wasn't. You should've thought about that before you had GameStop stock their shelves with a $60 price tag.
