Title says it all, but I'll elaborate...

If someone reacts to one of your posts through the Insightful, Agree, or Awesome reactions, would you want to see who did mark the post?

    Voting on my own poll...

Yes, I should be able to see who marked my post.

However, if they add a Disagree button, my opinion might change, but with the current system, I think I should be able to see who reacted to my post.

Depends. Several forums who uses "Like" instead of reactions send notifications to the poster when someone clicks the like button. I'm asking whether ESO Forums should adopt a similar system.

    Because ... privacy
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Arena25 certainly gives appropriate poll choices. :p

However there is no problem for people seeing that I gave an insightful to their **** post since I obviously don't give a snip.

Yes, lets say i click agree on your post, an option then appears for me to show my name to to you the poster if i want. This keeps my privacy in my control.

Really my vote is no, but this option was too fun to pass up.

I'm thinking without anonymity, there would be fewer people ticking the flags. Already, people tend to only flag the most polarizing posts. If loss of privacy led to fewer people flagging, how would we get our forum badges? B)

I'm often curious but more so this could add to interactions.

To me if a post is marked agree, awesome or insightful those should be pushed up but also this should bump a thread so that ppl don't feel like they have to comment if when marking another comment says what they want to say.

I can just see threads becoming more meaningful and keeping topics on track and even compiled to provoke meaningful comments vs just to bump.

    @arena25

Considering I have experienced number 4 of your signature on another game forum, I think I can see where this "poll" of yours would go if what you are suggesting were implemented.

Part of why many forums don't provide users the option to see which other users are marking their posts has little to do with "privacy" in the sense most people here mean, and everything to do with allowing moderators some sense of a manageable job.

Forum mentality is heard mentality, and the second you have visible ways of targeting people who post opinions you don 't like, is the second nobody can post anything. Something already proven here with the removal of the "Dislike" button and later the "LOL" button.

To address the poll. Do you post to be popular? Is it important for you to be liked?

I think things are fine as they are on this forum except for one thing, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A DISAGREE BUTTON.

I actually only voted for this option because it amused me.

To me what would be nice is if when you clicked on agree or insightful or awesome you could either do it anonymously, or you could "sign" it. If you "signed" it then the person whose post it was would be able to see your name (and the names of anyone else who clicked that and "signed" it) by hovering over the number of agrees, or insightfuls, or awesomes (whichever it was) for that post. Other people wouldn't see that, though, so only the person receiving the agree/insightful/awesome would ever know who clicked it (and even then only if they didn't choose to do it anonymously). That way there would be no concern that clicking one of those options on a controversial post would lead to people harassing you or something, but you'd still basically have the option to tell someone "hey, I personally liked that post".

Having said that, I also don't really care. If there was some sort of mechanism to see who clicked on those buttons, this is how I would want it to work. It doesn't really make any difference to me though. Sometimes it would be interesting to see who clicked one of those options on one of my posts, but it's no big deal.

I would prefer to leave it anonymous or at the very least make it an option I can opt out of in profile settings.
I can appreciate the desire for privacy and wanting to avoid any possible harassment from others simply because of a difference of opinion. Just knowing someone out there agrees with me about something is more than enough.

And yeah, I would really like to see the return of the LOL button.
