Yeah, honestly, I knew I was forgetting something. And, unfortunately, you can't actually edit polls... I think.

EDIT: Yeah, you can tinker with the title and the description, but not the voting categories. I mean, the reasoning is somewhat obvious, but that one's on me.

Well, from a book first of course... A book that was required reading in one of my university courses the year before the movie came out My prof was a pretty cool guy.

I love Hunter. He lived on his own terms, He died on his own terms, and he did it all with a big gun.

And to his credit, Johnny Depp did a fantastic job of portraying Hunter S. Thompson... Um, I mean, of portraying the totally fictional Raoul Duke, who is definitely not an incredibly thinly veiled only very slightly fictionalized version of Hunter S. Thompson.

Yeah, I think I've seen the film once. The book left a much stronger impression, honestly. Great stuff either way.

The book definitely left a stronger impression on me too. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the copy I read was printed on blotter paper and I absorbed certain substances from it through my skin... Seems like it would have been appropriate for that book anyway. Maybe it was just that the illustrations combined with the descriptions made me feel like I was on something.

Man, now I'm actually remembering an old friend. He was a journalist back in the 60s and 70s. Hated Hunter S. Thompson with a passion. Behaved like Thompson was a personal insult to his entire profession.
